Take care what version u flash tho :) ( Bad boy Knox ) If u flash 4.4.2 full u can`t go back to JB after this, u will trigger Knox warranty void ( if did not do it already )
My knox is tripped since I first installed CM11. The new KK BL is installed too ... But thank you for the warnings!
I restored a backup of the stock KK via TWRP (but recovery remained TWRP) - still no success in flashing the new modem :crying:

I see in your signature, that you have installed modem from India I9192DDUCNH1.

How is it working in Eastern Europe?
Worth to upgrade from I9192XXUCNG2?
So and so, signal seemed a bit better, but i had some random network drops which i did not had with NG2
I think i will make a combination of all roms , like system from India , modem from Russia, my csc / kernel
Also tried latest Brazil TIM version from yesterday till today. I think signal is lower , sound in calls is lower a little . I do not know if it`s related to modem only or that i have system from brazil too.

I am sorry but i have no clue why is not working at u.
U use Odin 3.10 with CP option ? and let your phone full boot after
U enter download mode from Phone shut down then vol down + home + power ?
Some people complained that they could not flash modem if they enter download mode from CWm recovery menu / 4 way reboot ( is stupid why this is happaning i know )

I entered download mode always from 4 way reboot. I used Odin 3.10 with CP option. So I will try power down too. Thank you for the many information!

It's sooooo crazy. Now back on CM11 I manged to change the modem in just one trial . The trick seems to be that the phone has to be powered off before. So don't use reboot to download mode from ROM or recovery as @SilviuMik said!

i am using Stock Rom 4.4.2 with Baseband version I9192XXUCUNG2 ... my problem is: most of the time the SIM1 shows full signals but my callers have started complaining that my no. is non responding. I am encountering this problem frequently. Sometimes, it looses the signal and never regains on its own and I have to manually search the signal or have to restart the mobile.
Earlier, my SIM1 was on 2G and SIM2 was on 3G. Later, I switched the sims (on the sim slots) but the problem continued (esp. with SIM used ealier on SIM1). Later, I turned 3G on SIM1 and 2G on SIM2 which gave some relief.
I wanted to know is this the hardware problem or problem with the SIM or problem with the Modem Baseband. Can I consider changing the Baseband version to another one to see if that helps ?
I have read that this problem is occuring with other users as well.

I'm using CM11 and have the same problem. Don't think it's baseband dependend. When you have 3G activated on one SIM and you are transferring date (what can happen every time in the backround) the other (2G-) SIM is not responding to calls. I was about changing back to stock rom because of this behavior but the same thing happened to me on stock rom.
For me the only solution at the moment is tho have 2G on both SIM cards, since the device is primary a phone to me :(
3G and data activated brakes the other SIM ...

you are right but even if Data is disabled, the SIM1 on 2G behaves as non responder though the signals are all shown full ... i think this is a problem related to the GSM antenna of the mobile ? If I use 2g/3g autoconnect on SIM1, the issue gets resolved most of the time but not 100%, rather 80-90%.

Question

Hi! I have an untouched i9192 with stock 4.2.2 ROM and Baseband version I9192XXUBNC1. I would like to update to kitkat with odin. Should I update the modem before it? Will it break with JB modem on kitkat?

No, if it is untouched just update to KitKat full rom thru Odin :)
