How have you come this far without knowing what to do with update zips? Flash with ClockworkMod homie.

Done!, I normally use Clockwork for the whole package, I never used it on pieces. I have been "manually" putting things in with Super Manager.

So this modem seems to work fine with stock Captivate kernels from DG?
Works with Cog v2.3b6 just fine in Tampa,Fl.

Another vote of thanks. On my phone, better than JK3 for speed and GPS. JK4 was terrible with my setup. Gps locks in seconds, tracks perfect. Signal up 1 bar. Download speeds up. Thanks, Glitterballs!

So far you're the only one. Everyone else's signals seems to have improved. Toggle airplane off and on. If that doesn't do anything and it's not some type of PEBKAC error, then use another modem.

Well GPS will not lock at all which is the same for me with any modem.
Download speeds are 1.5meg and up 2meg. Signal and voice quality are good.
Ill stick with it however I am starting to think my GPS is truly broken as I have never gotten a lock with any modem or rom.

Check your phone calls. I'm also in tampa (international plaza) and have zero voice using this modem with the same rom (even through bluetooth).
Maybe try re-flashing the modem.
It shouldn't matter where you are, I have made calls on wdcma850 band with no problems and also gsm1900 and other edge bands.

I have audio in Bluetooth and all calls, its clear as ever.

For the record, I'm in Kentucky.

Anyone running cm 6.1 with this modem? Has your battery life gotten better? I stopped using it because I could only squeeze out 10 hours of hardly any use at work

Non captivate specific modems tend to have massive voice issues with captivate kernels. If you are on a captivate derived ROM do not.install any HSUPA enabled modem. Only use this if you are running an i9000 based rom/kernel combo.

I was assuming this, but when other said they were using the same rom/kernel (and it's working), that's what is throwing me off.

Just flashed this modem so far so good. JK4 is good as well and I don't notice anything really different Either in speed or incall quality. My gps locks really quickly but it did with jk4 also
