guys if you use 5ghz wifi you get speeds way faster than you need anyway - I dont know why you so need to enable ethernet?

the quest has a better screen res than the rift as well. Games come up mint using ALVR

I use moonlight to stream normal non-vr games as well - also works flawlessly

however - one thing that doesnt work too well - if i am using ALVR to stream a VR game that uses a gamepad and not the controlers, i pair my XBOX gamepad via bluetooth and ALVR crashes every time.

When i use moonlight and the bluetooth gamepad it does not crash.

This means i can only play VR games which require a gamepad if i am in proximity to the PC itself and not anywhere in the house which is what i would like.

Has anyone found a solution to this "ALVR crashes with Bluetooth Gamepad connected" issue yet?
I'm using virtual desktop and xbox controller pair with laptop, worked perfect with assetto corsa and project cars 2, haven't tried other games that uses the xbox controller yet, and often I could be playing through with no lag, I use the p30 Pro as a 5ghz hotspot and I'm within 4ft from the phone and the laptop

Did you have to pay for Virtual desktop?

is there a trial download?

Quest and Go in my country is almost double the original price coz of import duty and shipping. I want to customise my snapdragon 845 phone(with 6 gb ram) for explicitly VR to work like Quest(except the 6DOF). I can disable unnecessary services like GPS,Cameras etc. It had heat dissipation similar to Quest(no fan), given that its 845 i think fan is not needed to work like quest.

Is there any Custom ROM for high VR performance that canbe tuned for performance like Quest OS?

What are the things i need to do to the rom to make sure all the resources are allocated to VR?

There is a free alternative to virtual desktop : make a try to moonlight. ;)

Envoyé de mon Mi 9T Pro en utilisant Tapatalk
I been using moonlight for years to stream games to all my devices.

However Moonlight on its own will not let you play in VR mode.

I have now purchased virtual desktop for the quest and if you install the version for the quest using sidequest u get full steam vr support...its absolutely outstanding means that basically my quest can do anything!!

Hey all - I'm digging around some of the posts here looking to see if anyone here has made additional progress unlocking the Quest? With the FB requirements now for FB login on Quest 2, I'm fed up with the whole situation and curious to see what's be achieved in opening up Quest 1 for now. (I hadn't even heard about Moonlight until stumbling into this thread, so thank you for that!) Are any of you aware of any projects that have made headway in the possibility of a custom ROM for the OG Quest? The past few days I've been imagining a custom Android build using SideQuest as the foundation of an open store ecosystem. Who knows...maybe it can grow into something bigger, something that could give us an alternative to Facebook's Apple-like approach to VR.
