I want to test this out but if I want to go back to CWM where can I download the recovery img file. I originally used one of the cfroot kernels to load my current recovery.

Can I use the file from this link or how about one of the philz versions?

This recovery works great, but you need to reflash it with Mobile Odin, ODIN, or ADB after you flash new ROMs at the moment. And yes, you can do that to get CWM back or just use ROM Manager.

It would be nice to have this recovery work with touchwiz based roms. It works with touchwiz based roms on the galaxy note 2, why not the note 1 as well?

As in said in OP unfortunately i do not have the time to build and maintain this as it is part of the kernel and will need to be recompiled regulairly (i.e. each time CM team make a change to kernel)

I was hoping one of the Note developers would pick this up and run with it but looks like we are all out of luck :crying:

If you want, I can try to compile it once a week or so and you post it in the OP. I'll grab the source code tomorrow and build it. It sounds like a fun little project .

Team Win has mainly been working on Carrier branded devices due to their popularity, so we're not getting much love here on the GT-N7000 because it's unbranded. Also, the Note 2 has different hardware.

I'm not much of an Android developer, but I am a Computer Programming major. I'm going to take a look at the SGH-I747 source from Team Win and see what I can do to help.

There is a JB kernel with TWRP recovery compatible with Touchwiz JB ROMs.
Go to the Alliance thread in the Android Development section and search. The kernel can be flashed as an OTA update.

PSA: I will be compiling later today after I spend some time with my son. I will create a new thread (to be linked later) for the first build after I have sifted through and noted all the bugs and am happy with it.
