In searching Amazon for an official Samsung book cover case I found what appears to be a knockoff or perhaps it's made by the OEM that Samsung uses: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1KNZ8FERCP30DDYXKP98
From the pictures I've seen of the Samsung case, this seems to be functionally the same. Without having seen the original in person I can't say if they are identical. I was lucky enough to have gotten mine for $18.99, but even at its current $34.99, it is a bit cheaper than the Samsung branded version. I'm not quite sure if I would be happy with it at the higher price point. I'm gonna try it out for a while, then decide whether to switch back to my Vipertek case.

One thing to look out for at the Amazon page: quite a few of the reviews for this product appear to be for a different case and in fact the seller first sent me a case that was identical to my Vipertek. The seller quickly rectified the problem, but I'm curious as to how many people may have received a product different from what they actually ordered without catching on.

How much thinner is the MoKo compared to the ViperTEK? I have the ViperTEK, and my only complaint is how thick the case is.

Is the Acase same thickness as the Vipertek? because they look the same from the pictures just branded differently.

Here is the Acase which look similar to the vipertek
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA0TJ0768296

Here is also something on ebay which looks a lot like the Moko case
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Black-GUARD-...ccessories&hash=item3a70412060#ht_1453wt_1063

Here is another one I am considering
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Leather-Case...ccessories&hash=item2c61794eff#ht_1731wt_1167

I am trying to decide between the three

I have a ViperTEK case, and I think the Acase is identical.
The pictures on the first ebay link are definitely not from a 8.9 or 10.1. The camera location looks like it would fit an original Galaxy Tab.

Yeah I asked the seller about that. He said the first two top pictures are the right one and the rest of the pictures are a mistake. He said it is definitely for the 8.9. How is the vipertek case? Is it real leather or at least feels like real leather? Newegg is out of stock and amazon won't ship to Canada.

The vipertek case is fine. It is not real leather, but I have no complaints with the presentation. The multi-angle viewing works well, and is a nice feature. My only problem is that it is quite thick when closed. I also have one of the iPad smart case knockoffs, and while much thinner, there is nothing to keep the cover closed and it tends to flop around.

I think I am going to get rid of both to get the MoKo or the OEM Samsung book case.

Here's my opinion on the Moko case after some use:

Pros - it's thinner than the Vipertek type cases
- it holds the tablet only at the 4 corners, as opposed to the 2 extra clips on the V-tek

Cons - flap must be left open for charging
- when fully closed the power button can be accidentally pressed or held down. Would be better if it had cutouts like the Samsung case
- cheaper looking and plasticy
- doesn't feel as secure in my right hand when held in portrait

It was cheap, so I'm gonna try cutting out for the power button and possibly the charger.

It looks very similar, except for the earphone cutout (the original lets you open the cover while the earphones are still plugged in), and the cutout for the power button.

The power button cutout is quite important I think, not to turn on the tablet when it's shut, but to avoid the case from turning the tablet on. When this style of case first came out with the Tab 10.1, it didn't have a power button cutout. Some reviewers commented that when they put the tab into their bag, the power button would be pressed and held down causing weird behaviour, like the tab not turning on unless you long-press it to reboot it.

After making cutouts for the charger and the power button, I'm gonna stick with the Moko case. I definitely prefer this style over the Vipertek/A case/etc. style. I would have preferred to not have to make modifications that the Samsung case has out of the box, but for the price I'm happy now.
