Monthly 4g plan WiFi calling

Can someone please talk some sense to me? Prior to purchasing my SIM card for this plan I made sure that WiFi calling would NOT couns twords my minutes because I got the wall mart plan with 100 min

So several reps confirmed this to me. That it wouldn't count.

So I ordered my sim card all excited pop that sucker into my sensation and start making calls over WiFi. And guess what?.... Yeah it was charging me.

So I call tmobile and say what the hell? They NOW tell me after buying the plan. That I have been "misinformed"

I call back and one lady says I just need a new sim card the 3gg type then. I talk to a supervisor she says let's see what we can do she's puts me on with customer care he says they WiFi calling doesnt count twords you mins.

Any one have any info on this? I say tmobile needs to get there Shi* together.

I think on the app pop up informs you that using wifi mins does indeed count towards your monthly minutes.

They do count so expect to be charged if you do wifi calling, that's why I like to have unlimited minutes. lol

Yeah, but literally 7 different reps have said that it doesn't. Even a supervisor said that. So what in hoping for now is I'm going to get a refund.

Reps from Walmart don't know ****. they just want a sale

GrooVe IP is your solution for that...

Setup that app with Google voice and Google talk and the minutes will not count ....

Where are you located? My wifi calling does count on my plan and I am on contract. Are you on an unlimited plan?

I'm located in Utah, if your on contract and you don't get free WiFi calling your definitely getting screwed.

Also can you tell me about google voice and talk?

Actually because I am on an OLD min plan, they claim they cannot add the feature.

"They" being tmo.

Same here. Im on unlimited plan.. any Idea if wifi calling will not charge using it overseas/outside US?

In the past I have uses wifi calling when in mexico and it was allowed, I cant tell you if something has changed since then...

In the past I was able to use wifi calling when visit Mexico, as soon as the needed ports are opened in the router/firewall you are behind of it should.work and regular charges should apply

Wifi calling does use your minutes unless you have either the paid (for grandfathered plans) or free (for newer plans) unlimited wifi calling feature. Someone gave you the wrong information. Monthly 4G is prepaid and does not have the option to add the free wifi calling option.

And you can avoid international roaming fees by using wifi calling. Just make sure you enable airplane mode then turn back on only wifi. This way you won't register to the local towers first. I've been using this for years when I go to Europe and Asia.

Yeah it wasn't just one person who told me that it. I had one of the reps actually write that it doesn't use minutes in my notes.

The only reason I went with the Walmart plan is because of this misinformation given to me by multiple reps.

When I wanted to switch to the $50 unlimited plan they said I would have to pay the whole 50. This was 10 hours after I bought my other plan.

I'm in the same boat as OP. I signed up for this new plan and was told that I could use free WiFi calling but it appears to be charging me for those WiFi minutes... nice...
