UV settings

Phoenix team,

I think your work is remarkable. I am fairly new to android and modification, but your work and its outcome surpasses everything I ever thought this process would reveal. I am amazed about the amount of work I assume goes into what you guys do and the level of savvy each of you must have to put this stuff together. I just wanted to take a minute and say Thanks before I put out my first question on the forum.

I am currently running Mosaic I, Talon 1.4 EXT4, I9000JK4 and ADW-EX. I am OC'd to 1200 and my UV settings are 0,100,100,125,100 and 100 from top to bottom.

1. I notice that when I UV at 1200 my QS is about 1500 and it feels slower. If I remove the 1200 UV I am consistently getting 2500 to 2888. Why is this the case? Can I UV 1200 and still get a similar result? Is there anywhere where I can learn about how to properly UV or could you maybe provide me some settings that are know to work?

I am getting excellent battery life and speed is slick...

Thank you in advance for your response...Mosaic Rocks...

FAQ

How to flash Mosaic from 2.2:

1. BACK UP!!!
2. Clear cache, dalvik and factory reset
3. Flash stock GB 2.3.3 with Odin (I suggest Haikaido's guide in general section)
4. Download Mosaic.zip and copy it to your sd card
5. Get into recovery using the button combo (volume up + power when the phone is turned off)
6. Choose install zip for sd and go get Mosaic.zip
7. hit YES!
8. Once done, choose reboot system now
9. Let your phone settle down for a minute
10. WIN! :D
One suggestion to add to this great initial guide...a link to Haikaido's guide you reference. It might help avoid the question of "where do I find this guide?" Just a thought...

I don't know about Talon 1.4, but I am using Talon 1.5, ext4, OC to 1.2, with -75 UV on every level. I consistently score between 2350 and 2600 in quadrant, and my phone is stable enough that I saved those settings as the boot settings. I haven't tried increasing any of the UV for the lower levels, will probably try to do this soon.

Mosaic friggen kicks major arse. I was going to buy the Infuse 4G soon, but after this, it looks like I'll be waiting a while until devs get a hold of it and work their magic, because my cappy is a beast now. I don't think that I would rather have any other phone that's out there right now, even if I could pick anything from any carrier. Keep up the great work Team Phoenix!

I agree completely. This thing is slick and it is sick. It is clear that you have something good when you show someone your phone and they go buy one the next day. The only added labor is that you have to teach them the secrets of the dark side. One more converted soul, we are a growing population..watch out...

Thanks team Pheonix for a great ROM! :)

I asked this in the Phoenix Q&A thread, but I'll ask it again here:

Is it normal that it takes 1-1.5 seconds for the screen to come one after I press the power button from sleep? I could swear it wasn't this long on Firefly. I've tried a Nexus S (essentially a Captivate) running 2.3.3 and on that the screen turns on pretty much instantaneously.

I'm running:
Mosaic + Talon 1.5 with EXT4
Stock everything, even removed all my apps to make sure.

Some Questions

I really want to try out this ROM but I have a few questions.

1) How to I get to stock 2.2?
1a) Does Odin OneClick do it now? Ive used it before but it put me on 2.1
2) Can I upgrade to Stock GB from Cognition 4.1?
3) How do I go back to stock 2.2 if I need to?

Check out the OP, questions 1 and 2 are definitely answered.

I looked at the OP but it looks like the directions assume you are starting with Stock 2.2.
To get to stock, follow this thread (it's mentioned in the official Mosaic ROM thread):

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1045734&highlight=tut

This is what I did:

1) I got down to stock using the above thread (only followed the instructions to get to stock 2.1)
2) Followed the instructions in the second post of the Official Mosaic Rom Thread to flash 2.3.3 and Mosaic

Simple as that, read both of those and you should be set :)

+1 having the same thing...figured it was normal...maybe a setting that can be changed?

No like I said I'm also on talon with ext4. :)

Just to be clear, this only happens when the phone is really in sleep (it takes ~5 seconds for the phone to sleep after the power button is pressed). Quickly pressing the power button over and over doesn't reproduce the problem.

Mosaic just doesn't feel as snappy as it should for me :(
