It's pretty much Otterbox if it's available. I've had quite a few phones and when I've had an Otterbox case I've always felt it was protected. Def recommend it if you don't mind the bulk.
IMO otterbox is outdated technology and makes the phone feel like cheap plastic. I've been using the tech 21 cases on my note 5 and now s7, they have never failed me from falls onto concrete and they are very slim.

I had one briefly and returned it when I had an s6. it felt very uncomfortable in my hands and not deep enough lip.

Got the official leather cover today for my S7, it looks anf feel fantastic in the hand and it fits really nice on the phone, high quality.

Only bad thing is that it's a lot more slippery compared to just the naked phone.

I'm really liking the Tech 21 Evo Tactical, been using it for about 2 weeks now.

Super duper slim case, barely feels like you have a case at all. No lips on the sides so swipe ins from the side are just like without a case. Doesn't seem to offer much protection though but the grip is much better than the other cases, and if your hands are sweaty it offers tons of grip. There's no protection for the rear camera, the case is almost flush with the lens, that's how thin it is. It almost fits in the gear vr, with some minor trimming of the plastic on the gearvr im sure i'll get it to fit.

Thanks for the review and pics! I have sweaty hands so I need grip! I'm ordering this case now. Can't go wrong for 1USD :good:

Could you, please, explain what makes Otterbox "outdated technology"? Also, are you saying that Otterbox doesn't protect or just that tech21 is more protective?

Personally, I have an Otterbox Symmetry on my S7. I was very interested in the tech 21, precisely because of claims regarding its new material. But a number of reviews say that the material stretches with time, making the case loose-fitting. What's been your experience over what period of time?

TIA

I find otterbox outdated because they use the same hard plastic and silicone that they have been using for about 10 years which were the only options before people started developing materials specifically for cell phone cases, my co workers swear by tech 21 for their iphones and I've seen them use them for 2+ years with 0 issues. I have never seen them stretch personally, but if you are constantly pulling at them I could see that happening. I used one on my note 5 and now s7 which both phones I have dropped onto concrete and rocks , face down, my s7 even fell out during a go kart race and got run over several times and I have 0 blemishes on my phones. Plus I hate how bulky otterbox is, it makes the phone look and feel like a blackberry circa 2005

I just bought an Obliq Slim Meta case for my S7 and I am VERY impressed with it. It's snug and feels tough while looking great. It's reasonably slim for a dual layer case, too.
The titanium space grey Obliq Slim Meta case ($17.54 on Amazon) is still working quite well, but I wanted a change so I ordered another Obliq case. This time I got an espresso Flex Pro ($11.99 on Amazon). It's a leather-looking TPU case that feels even better than the Slim Meta.

I like having a dual layer case and a TPU case on hand for various situations. These are my idea two thus far.

i purchased Otterbox Symmetry (http://www.amazon.com/OtterBox-SYMM...1461121482&sr=8-2&keywords=symmetry+galaxy+s7) from Walmart out of all places and it was $34 which is cheaper by 6 bucks than Amazon and no shipping charges (obviously). Had this case for about a month and i love it. its very sturdy and doesn't feel cheap. its also not as bulky as other Otterbox cases i've seen. it also doesn't slip out of my hands like other cases. it is not as rounded as some other ones on the edges so it gives you extra grip. my hands are medium size at best and the top edge of the case is actually rubbery plastic so it provides pretty decent grip. i'm gonna put some thin strips of guntape GT-5000 on the bottom for even extra gripping (this stuff is amazing btw). but go to walmart and check out that case, its pretty legit imo.

I have the unicorn beetle series from amazon, it works really great and you can add your own screen protector too

got mine in the mail today. The screen protector built in is great compared to Otterbox. However the case is a bit thin for me and the phone is kind of small for me to grip. I might go back to the defender and wait until a good tempered glass comes out that doesn't lift up around the edges or have Halo. Zagg is the best but they are having issues with it right now.

I use the Unicorn beet pro and I love it. I bought a few other cases like one from casology and the Spigen neohybrid but those cases come off easily taking in and out of pocket. I don't use wireless charging but I do have a charging pad and it says its charging when I put my phone on it while in the case.

The case having the front bumpers is protection I want. Plus it makes handling the phone easier. Plus I use a magnet hold for my phone. Its helpful to have magnet holders strategically placed around my house and work.

Have you ever dropped your phone in this thin case? Is it hard or soft enough for you to believe your phone is protected well?

And does it cover the camera too?
I have the same case, dropped it 2 days ago about 4ft onto hardwood floor. The phone flat out hit the ground I was a bit scared but the case did its job. No scratches, no dents and no cracks to the glass. I will be more careful from now on but at least I know my device is safe.

I have the Tech21 Evo Wallet on mine since day 1 (mind you, that was 2 days ago! :D).

Fits well with my Zagg screen protector and looks sleek, but that's really down to personal preference. I know wallet cases are not everyone's cup of tea.

In terms of protection, I've already dropped it, albeit from the sofa to the carpet so I don't think I've tested the case on a serious impact. But the reputation tech21 one has in terms of durability is good so that gives me some peace of mind.

It is a bit pricey, I happened to get it 40% off using a staff discount, but now that I own it I think I would even pay full price for it.

I use UAG black.
Fantastic case, very sturdy, grippy, looks cool and feels like it offers good protection against drops at the same time it's not too bulky. A bit expensive at full price.
My second choice would be a simple smoke gel case. Improves grip and handling and offers minimum protection vs scratches

I also have Spigen Neo Hybrid case. Absolute rubbish. Putting aside aesthetics which are subjective. The case is cheaply made and poorly designed (thin and slippery plastic offering little protection, power button gets pressed if you apply pressure next to case's power button, very slippery) . This is my 2nd Spigen case. Both are a joke. Will never waste my money on Spigen products again. Mind boggling why their cases are popular, I presume that Spigen puts marketing and branding over other things.

I got the rock moost Royce series case. $10 from amazon, perfect combination of thinness, protection and style. Matte rubbery back so it gives it some grip, and a raised lip to protect the screen. My favorite case so far by miles.
