Fyi... usually tar files are not zipped. I simply zipped it for size cuz dropbox only allows 200mb per upload on the free account. Unzipped the tar file is over 300mb.
Also, while I agree that for 100% stability you can't beat a good GB build, I think you're giving the newest JB builds too much flak... I'm on Helly Bean and there's literally nothing that isn't working not to mention with Devil it's amazingly speedy. Nothing crashes, no random reboots, it just works
I've got nothing against the newer Roms... it's just in my findings and journey through these roms, i've usually always found something I didn't like whether it be an app incompatible or some setting not affective enough. I myself am very anal when it comes to my phone. I want everything to work and well... and 9 times outta 10 I find myself returning to geewiz. This is only my opinion...
don't get me wrong... I love roms like baked blackbean and jaly bean... but again... no matter what mtd I try, I always end up running geewiz... just my 2 cents. Good luck.
Not sure if there is anything wrong with 2.9.2... but I know there is nothing wrong with 2.8.1.

Since this thread is indeed for the pursuit of the most stable rom... one cannot afford to overlook the awesomeness of geewiz. Peace
I have Steve Spear's latest jb aokp pub build on my wife's Fascinate. I'm partial to the nice customizations in aokp. This has been her daily driver since it came out. No whining or gnashing of teeth from her and no "here, fix this!". Its very stable and full functioned. Spear was a Fascinate dev and moved on to aokp & Nexus, but dropped occasional aokp gifts on us. He is AWOL right now and aokp devs are not supporting Fascinate builds right now but this is a great build.
Steve stopped maintaining for the Fascinate, but these guys have picked it back up http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2185502&page=6 and it rocks. It's stable, smooth, everything works. I've been running AOKP for a long time now and I keep trying other ROMs but always end up back at AOKP. You just can't beat the performance and battery life as far as I'm concerned.
