Probably the only difference with v. 6.2.5.11 is some bugfixing.
IF that link is bad (as reported by some), here is a re-upload by @FlavioV, who still has Quark.
And here's TWRP-flashable version.

Thanks for the modded apk,
Here's the flashable zip with Sdcard save option.

EDIT:

Since @data365 stopped porting the Moto cameras for older phones, I haven't posted any new versions recently. However, here's a newer version of the Moto Camera that works for our Quarks. I have not tried it, but @FlavioV has... Thanks to @Steph310 for finding this and writing notes.

I found it!
Moto Camera 6.0.90 PRO Unlocked by SerJo87
No debg mode and seems only english language but all works fine ;)
No feature change maybe better picture, sharper.
"Bug fixes and stability improvements.
Added support for full resolution (4:3) image capture as default. If you prefer 16:9 (full screen), please change this by swiping from left to right on the screen for camera settings and changing the "Photo size" to 16:9"
About SD, I don't know because Moto X 2014.
Thanks Serjo87 :good:
Works nicely on my Moto Maxx (quark). It can be installed alongside this thread's port if you want to try it before uninstalling.
ALSO:
@rahul9999 @ChazzMatt

Here a TWRP flashable zip of the camera with SdCard enabled: it is possible to do so only if app resides in system/priv-app (MotoCamera has all permissions to write to extSd, only in this folder System grants above permission).

Tested and it works, i suggest to reboot 1-2 times after flashing this .zip.

OLD

NEW MOTO G5 CAMERA FOR QUARK

I'm still on RR 6.X. and this one below -- from new Moto G5 -- is newer camera than I had. Thank you to @zys52712 for finding it!
________

I just downloaded this modded APK, and installed it. I then froze the older Motorola (system) camera. The new one shows up as a user app camera. For a few minutes I had two cameras, until I froze the old one.

Everything works well. Yes, it even has professional mode, but I probably won't use that. Video works well too.

(V6.0.62.1)

https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/themes-apps/moto-camera-6-0-43-10-modded-apk-t3459690
The V6.0.62.1 apk was extracted from this stock Moto G5 Rom after i noticed that it had a more up-to-date version of the app
The "res\raw\app_features.json" file has been modified to enable professional mode for the following devices:
otus - Moto E (2nd gen)
osprey - Moto G (3rd gen)
lux - Moto X Play
clark - Moto X Style
kinzie - Moto X Force
merlin - Moto G Turbo Edition
quark - Moto DROID Turbo (XT1254)

EDIT:
Download with Chrome. It should download an an APK. PC version of Chrome always downloads as an APK.

If you are using the mobile Chrome and it downloads as a .BIN file, go to Chrome settings and request the desktop site version of the website (in mobile Chrome) and click on the "download" again so it downloads as APK.

But make sure you are in Chrome. When I click on the link on my phone, "Google" opens the link and it's not actually Chrome browser. (They look very similar.) I know because when I go to the browser settings, it asks me if I want to open in Chrome. Open in Chrome.

______

BE SURE TO REBOOT THE PHONE AFTER YOU INSTALL THE NEW CAMERA!
Video recording may not work until you reboot the phone.
_______

You should probably freeze (or uninstall) any other cameras until you are sure there are no conflicts.
________

I tested both 1080p and 2160p (4K), and the rear camera works fine.

Video works fine on my Quark (Moto XT1225), but I have the native 1080p QUARK camera video resolution chosen for video recording. I did test 2160p (4K) and it also works fine.

The Quark camera specs are this:
Any other resolution except for those two might not work for Quark (Droid Turbo, Moto Turbo, Moto Maxx).

Since both my TVs are 1080p, I just kept it on that. While 2160p (4K) works, it doesn't do me any good, even on my 1440p AMOLED Moto Maxx display, you know?

The Google Drive download comes as a bin file, not an app.
Depends on how you download it. IF you download it from PC version of Chrome, it definitely downloads as an APK. You can also force it to download as an APK in mobile Chrome.

Copy and paste the URL into mobile Chrome. (When I click on the link it's Google that opens, not Chrome. I know that because when I go to the menu it asks me if I want to open in Chrome.)

Make sure Chrome is open and you are using that. If it downloads as bin again, then go to settings and check mark "desktop version" of website. Click on the file. It will then download as an APK.

I am using latest RR and video doesn't work. Not that I care, though, I use Bacon Camera for all my video recording needs, so I just need Moto Camera for taking photographs and nothing else.
Then you're doing something wrong? :) Well, not personally, but in your phone configuration.

What GAPPS do you have? I'm only asking because someone on RR 7.X changed GAPPS and suddenly the video works for them. Not sure why that would make a difference, just telling you what happened. Many others on 6.X (like me) and 7.X have no issues at all. So, it has to be something with your setup?

I was able to get record to work after installing updated open gapps and reflashing RR 7.x. Working great on the droid turbo, thank you!
Also some people have reported the very first time they try to record video, doesn't work, but then works every time after that. For me, on RR 6.X, it took a picture instead of recording -- on both mine and my wife's phones. Then every time after that, it records video. People on Nougat ROMs says it crashes first time, then will record video.

You can try and flash the attached zip (forgot where I got this from :() and copy the modded moto camera to replace the old one in /system/priv-app/MotCamera and this should fix video recording and all the other force closes of the app.

Video recording may not work until you reboot the phone.

Someone else just discovered that, so I added it to the op.

Also, freeze (or uninstall) any other cameras until you are sure there are no conflicts.

I think think these two points are what are causing some people problems?

APK has been updated. Seems to fix issue the custom Nougat ROMs had. Always worked fine for me on Marshmallow RR 6.x, and the Moto G5 camera comes from stock Motorola Nougat, so was strange some had permission problems. Anyway, seems to be totally fixed, go check it out. Link is at top and also here:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzN_CG03Ba9WOFdxSjNjajJTd0k/view

Anyone still having issues with the recording on the modded new moto camera app chazzmatt posted about, go check out that camera thread again for an update that fixed FC with recording.

Worked for myself and Di5cip1e, no need to make it a system app.
Note there are 2 modv3 versions - he forgot to rename the last one. Make sure you get the last.

This version worked for me! Don't forget to reboot after installing it, or else video recording won't work.

Thank you very much!

This version is DPI independent (since it's from Nougat) and works fine if you're running custom DPI scaling on your phone. I could not use previous versions because the touch detection coordinates were messed up if you changed DPI.

Thanks again! Finally back to the Moto camera app.

Hi, thanks for the update.
It seems like manual focus is still not working for me. Is it supposed to work ?
These two users say it now works for them, unless I am misunderstanding. One of them is the dev who posted it over in the XDA thread.

Bad news... Now the exposure is not working and in the v3 it was working good. Wb, focus, Iso working, nigth mode not longer get stuck but loose exposure control in manual and automati mode! Please check when you have time.
Thanks a lot!
Now is working fine!! Really don't know what happening but after uninstalling v3 and reinstalling v4 now exposure works as it should! Thanks a lot!
Ok, thanks for the feedback.

When i took the two images this morning i noticed that when i manually set the iso to 400 the image outputs were almost the same, adjusting it to 800 or 1600 showed the biggest difference.
They both have the Moto X Pure, not the Quark. But should still work.

I'm able to go into professional mode, click the auto focus button and change it to manual. Then, I'm able to rotate along the semi-circle. It seemed to be working but I didn't mess with it extensively.

This no longer works properly after the latest Resurrection Remix update (included new camera libraries). If you tap on HDR and switch it to on or auto, it always goes to off.

Can you also report it here at this link below? I'm not the dev keeping this current, I just thought it would be useful for people with Moto Quark.

Tell them it's RR Nougat you are using and which phone.

Did you reboot after installing? Video won't work until you reboot...

Mine still works great, including video. Did you download the latest version? Go to that thread to make sure.

I think I have the latest posted here, but the newest has permissions for Nougat. And there's even a newer version someone made that will work even with non-Moto phones (like OnePlus 3T). But I didn't post that one here.
