Well, got an email from Motor with an apology saying disregard the shipment notice I got Thursday and that my upgrade was not complete. Said they will send another notice when it ships early next week. At least they found it.

@hammer - It was stock and locked. I even let it take all the updates from the stock version on Motor's site.

If they crack your screen, or ship your unit to China instead of your house I would call that dropping the ball.

Almost every account of some guy freaking out about his Xoom is purely brought on by himself. The most common form of this by example:

1 - complete website form
2 - freak out when box doesnt show up in 2 hours
3 - call motorola 5 times, confusing the issue and creating 4 more RMA #'s
4 - ***** about the fact that you got 4 boxes
5 - send Xoom back in 1 of 4 boxes
6 - freak out because motorola hasnt sent a friend to your house to chat
7 - freak out because your xoom didnt get there same day
8 - freak out because nobody emailed you again yet
9 - next day; freak out because by 6am the following day YOUR xoom isnt checked in yet
10 - more freaking out...
11 - 48 hours after motorola has your xoom, freak out some more for good measure
12 - call motorola, you guessed it... freak out.
12a - realize after calling motorola that you typed in the wrong MEIN Or something by accident... hey accidents DO happen but there's no way in hell that you did this to yourself... right?
13 - somewhere within the promised turn around time you get your Xoom back
14 - quietly go back to whatever you were doing before step 1; avoid embarassment for acting like a twit in public forums.

If this describes YOU.... call motorola NOW and spaz out on someone. It's saturday, and dammit... they should be working around the clock to get your tablet back to you.

PS: smile it's saturday... you'll get your xoom back soon i promise little buddy.

Dude maybe they are fixing the software screw up! Just found out the density has changed making alot of my paid apps incompatible now. Google wants to keep play email tag. The app developers didn't change that. Now I'm really pssd! I guess they needed a test bed for this upgrade. Google is insisting I'm not running official software. Looks like Google is the reason for all of moto's issues with the xoom. I gave the engineer a nice reply to his blaming the developers of apps. Get it fix now or I will be seeking legal action for his incompitance to supply me with a way to change the density, redownload the app, or refund me. They keep changing the software to the point that no one can keep up. He admitted they did not notify the app developers or Motorola of the change to the Motorola xoom. Seems like they are trying to create more of an issue to me.

Yep! Google Chris is getting upset cuz I won't stop emailing him! Boohoo! There maybe a root solution to this though. I just need to know if the files can be fastboot flashed straight from stock. Still waiting on a reply for that.

I think people are confusing the methods of rooting/unlocking. If you had the device upgraded it is safe to unlock it and you can use a kernel to overclock but don't try to install a different ROM over 3.2.2 or you will run into issues. There is no need to flash the 3.2.2 ROM that you find on here if you just had your 4G upgrade because you already have that version of HC. You simply have to unlock the device and use the universal root which others are having success with.

Wow - award for most BS in a post for today. If you read the Motorola forums, you'll see that there is an issue with the process -- apparently most upgraded devices are now being held in waiting, but nobody can admit what the problem is. Tablets were "shipped", then not shipped, upgrades were completed, but never shipped back at all. Their phone staff know nothing about anything - and simply claim everything is shipping.

I'm sure you thought your post was quite funny, but when Motorola sends an email saying your tablet upgrade is completed, followed by days of nothing, a little frustration is justified.

The Motorola forum is nothing more than a group of disgruntled consumers bitching at a group of Motorola-Android Knowitall Wannabe Fanboys who can't give them any information whatsoever.
Since I got my Xoom in March, I have NEVER read that forum as being the source of any new information.
i'm not saying yer an idiot and no one cares about your Xoom, because that just wouldn't be nice.:p

Hey anyone know what this HLK75D is? It looks like those of us that got our tablets back are running HLK75C. Maybe that's why Google is saying I'm running the wrong software! The idiots at the upgrade center flashed the wrong damn files!!! No wonder they didn't ship your xoom back yet! IDIOTS....that's all I can say for this screw up!

My guess for what happened: they had more people send in their Xooms than expected, so the logistics chain got backed up somewhere.

As for me, mine was received 2 days after I dropped it with FedEx, which had me twitchy, and in an indeterminate state for 2 days after that, with no joy on Friday.

So yeah, I have a seething discomfort about the state of a gadget close to my heart, but I'm not foolish enough to think that directing it at someone or something will make it go away. Might even make it worse.

Sometimes you have to let go and await an outcome which you can't control.

I do anticipate, eventually, getting a factory-freshened 4G Xoom. That will make me very happy indeed.

Then there's the is it wiped or not concern... I encrypted.

Yeah I am one of them waiting on their xoom, was sent an email on thursday of last week telling me that it had been completed and shipped so I can understand the frustration. The point is not receiving information on why it wasn't picked up until 2 days after I was to receive it. Yeah if it is an issue with the upgrade and they are fixing it then YEA but at least have the common courtesy to let us know instead of blaming fedex about not picking it up.

I started this thread when I first got that ball in my gut that something was wrong. I still have not received my Xoom. There are people that have sent theirs in well after mine and received theirs. Mine still shows status as shipped since Oct 6th with no updates to their site.

Have you guys seen the pictures and heard the story of Motor outsourcing the upgrade to a company that hired people/temps off the street to do these upgrades?

Don't let the haters bother you. Most of them are banned from moto's forums for making the same comments you've made. One of em even got ran off from here for a bit for yelling at devs because he or she was being the little self entitled biatch that you're accused of being. Keep your head up. They matter less than the XOOM.

Mine showed status of being shipped Oct. 5th but didn't show a FedEx tracking number until yesterday. If yours doesn't show a tracking number, it hasn't been shipped, end of story. I got mine today after sending it in last Tuesday.

Also, if they really dropped the ball, mine wouldn't have come back with brand new glass. No more scratched screen!
