I started this thread when I first got that ball in my gut that something was wrong. I still have not received my Xoom. There are people that have sent theirs in well after mine and received theirs. Mine still shows status as shipped since Oct 6th with no updates to their site.

Have you guys seen the pictures and heard the story of Motor outsourcing the upgrade to a company that hired people/temps off the street to do these upgrades?
The temps are trained. Its not just random people that have no clue what they are doing. Still CTDI isn't the best at doing work.

I sent mine last Friday, got it back today. I do have service through Verizon, I wonder if that makes a difference? Also, I have six lines and a corporate discount....

Sent mine in last Thursday, they got it Friday sent it back today and it wasn't until yesterday that the status had changed since they had gotten it. Anyways, I didn't cry and kick and scream foul play or moto this or anything and guess what... it's right here , right on schedule (6 business days), and fast as hell. Oh and my interwebs are fast too 10-12 down 3-5 up which is average cable speed, so I'm happy, AND... I didn't traumatize myself

Motorola gave me the wrong rma label so mine actually went to the wrong place, it went to a vzw kiosk manager who had nothing to do with the lte update. The kiosk manager opened it got my info and called me. It took a week for me to figure out motorola didn't even have my **** yet. I ended up getting corporate on the phone and the lady fixed everything she will be calling me Monday to check up, when she calls me on Monday what should I ask her for compensation for putting my data possibly in the wrong hands and me having to wait so long for my xoom?

Nothing. The security of your data is your own responsibility.
Yeah right, if I would've locked my xoom down I nor motorola would've ever found my xoom. They put the completely wrong label in the box so there tracking # showed I never dropped my package off at fedex. It was my word vs theirs till this guy finally called me. I'm lucky as hell and moto will make this up to me per corporate, I'm just wondering how

Part of the shipment process was to wipe your data or encrypt it, so if you left it in the open its your fault. No compensation!
Dude CORPORATE already got involved, not a supervisor or manager, CORPORATE, they've already confirmed the COMPLETE **** UP and will call me Monday when they receive my xoom that they shipped to the wrong person, she says she will compensate me for my time once she receives my xoom, I just have no clue what kind of compensation and what I should ask for. I run multiple businesses also and compensation is a must for this profound **** up. All the people who have been bitching about motorola messed up this motorola messed up that, none of them got to speak to Corporate, but me I have this corporate women's direct phone #, no prompts, I'm getting compensated for my time and energy #bet

Wow - award for most BS in a post for today. If you read the Motorola forums, you'll see that there is an issue with the process -- apparently most upgraded devices are now being held in waiting, but nobody can admit what the problem is. Tablets were "shipped", then not shipped, upgrades were completed, but never shipped back at all. Their phone staff know nothing about anything - and simply claim everything is shipping.

I'm sure you thought your post was quite funny, but when Motorola sends an email saying your tablet upgrade is completed, followed by days of nothing, a little frustration is justified.
Yea like.. 2 days of extra waiting. #theskyisfalling

---------- Post added at 07:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:56 PM ----------

By the way... there was a period of like 48 hours when there actually wasn't much going on by way of communication and for that I could give Motorola a negative score but the sheer outpour of crying and moaning from the Moto forums was not justified. People created their own problems in most cases I could tell, the most common one being they created duplicate RMA requests because of their impatience. Duplicate RMA #'s which further confused the system and process from start to finish. I'm sure that doesn't account for every situation as some guys are were just downright impatient and unreasonable but look at the thread now.... the following MONDAY people started getting Xoom's again and suddenly all the bitching stopped.

Xoom Bricked after 4G Upgrade

You want to talk about dropping the ball. I shipped mine on a Tuesday and got it the next Wednesday. I was so looking forward to checking out the new 4G but when I turned it on, it stuck at the logo screen with red letters saying Failed to Boot LNX 0x0004 and the below that a line that said Starting RSD Mode 3 in white letters and that is all it would do. Nice QC job Motorola. How do you send out a bricked Xoom. I went ahead and got the Xoom back up an running on the latest build HLK75D but it does not recognize the 4G card that was installed. I took it down to Verizon to have my friend look at it and try a different Sim card and he confirmed that it looks like the 4G card they installed is bad. So not only did they ship me a bricked Xoom but also with a bad 4G card. Now I have to send it back in again. You fail Motorola!!!

Yup, I talked to her too but it was in response to my BBB complaint that I filed in September. I might not ever buy/recommend another Motorola product again but at least I finally got what I paid for and can forget about them completely.

Did I say you were angry? I basically said you deserved the hassle, and that I found your problems amusing.

Still having reading comprehension problems, I see.

Who is "Hassel?"

Seriously, you were a moron, who got lucky the person who received your Xoom was an honest person. But a whole lot of people got there hands on your personal data after that.

Is "Hassel" the name of the guy who is using an image of your Xoom to make his web purchases?

haha yeah right, a whole lot of people got my data, cmon man if you believe that youre more of a moron then i thought. and if you think theyre making purchases without my knowledge then youre even MORE STUPID THEN I THOUGHT. this guy said the random person made an image of my xoom and is using it to make web purchases, do you hear yourself, lmfao. funny because the guy who received my xoom is a verizon employee, lets see if he jeoperdizes his job when corporate now has his info. which vzw employee do you know who can copy xoom images, they can't even give correct specs for their own phones

Motorola/VZW were very specific about wiping your tablet, or at the very least encrypting your tablet, before sending it in for the 4g upgrade. Why do you think they did that?

One reason was so that the temporary workers they hired to do the upgrade couldn't make an image of a customer's Xoom with the customer's data on it, and then sell or use that data, like web site logins and credit card numbers saved by the browser.

Who knows what a temp worker is gonna do with your data? I know for a fact that no temp worker got their grubby paws on my Xoom data, because I flashed Motorola's developer images, multiple times, before sending in my Xoom.

So who is stupid again?

Also I took a photo of the shipping label Motorola sent out, so I could keep track of my Xoom, because I didn't trust Motorola to keep track of the labels they sent out to thousands upon thousands of Xoom owners.

So who is stupid again?
