You could also try exchanging the phone until you get one that works. Had to do that three times in one case. The other worked on the first try. I'm pretty sure there are quality differences between different sets at this point.

Same Issue Here

Ordered 2 Moto G 4g LTEs at the same time along with 2 identical 32gb Sandisk Micro SDs. My wife's phone works fine, mine just keeps looping to "Blank SD." Both phones and SD cards were received yesterday.

I can verify that the Samsung Electronics 32GB Micro SDHC Class 6 (it's blue and white) Works with mine. It's honestly true guys, just grab a lower class speed or rather one that isn't UHS-1 some people are getting lucky with the Ultras but it's still something worth keeping in mind.

I've tried a Kingston 32GB Class 10 and that fails to work also, works fine in all my older phones and my PC.

Only card I can get to work is a very old 2GB card!

Can everyone please get onto Motorola Live Chat and tell them, they deny there is any problem but clearly there are serious compatibility problems with the phone.

The more people that tell them hopefully something might get done...

Very interesting (and puzzling). Do they all run exactly the same version of Android? Are they all exactly the same model (eg. XT1032) and the same internal storage capacity (8/16 GB)?

Oops, Moto G LTE is 8 GB only, sorry.
Hello,

I think XT1040 is 8 GB; and XT1045 is 16 GB.

Has anyone had luck with larger/faster cards after going throught RMA with Moto directly? Just purchased one through Amazon (sold by Moto) tried 3 cards, 2x 32GB Ultra Sandisk and 1x 64 GB PNY Class 10, with the eject issue but an old 8GB Samsung low class card works fine. I spoke to Moto's support and they are doing an Advance RMA for the device, great support btw geared toward customer service. I'll chime in when I get my RMA.....

I browsed thru the thread and wasnt sure if everyone was ordering direct or something like Amazon where early units could be sitting a warehouse for a while....

I have a Moto G LTE also. I tested a 64 GB Sandisk Ultra I got in 2012 and one I ordered 4 days ago and both would not work. I just ordered a G.Skill 32GB Micro SDHC Flash Memory Card (FF-TSDG32GN-C6) off Amazon for $13, I will let everyone know how it goes when I get it.

This is the one I use..works flawlessly in my XT1045 internal slot or as a MicroSDcard in the USB/Charge port..runs MP4 video perfectly..even with another card mounted also..I have (4) of these "Team" cards (1) 64GB, (3) 32GB..just ordered another 64GB, 10 minutes ago..I formatted them with WinXP FAT32 and have had excellent performance for more than one year now..

Have the same problem here, I got a SanDisk 32GB SDHC Class 10 and it randomly says it's removed or damaged, it works in my laptop though and even tried formatting again.

So I just tried the SD card that was in my raspberry pi (Samsung 8GB class 4) and it's working perfectly on that.

Ordered one of these from eBay for the faster delivery. Reviews are a bit hit and miss on newegg but there is a lifetime warranty.
Will report back on whether it works.

Hello,

Just to note official specifications cites up to 32 GB (http://www.motorola.com/us/moto-g-pdp-1/Moto-G/moto-g-pdp.html). So you don't must rely besides this.

Got my replacement LTE from Motorola and my PNY 64gb class 10 ultra 1 seems to be working well. Been about 4 hours since setup but no card ejects with about 4gb written to the card.

So your old phone wouldn't accept the same card but the new one does? it seems strange as everyone was of the notion that their firmware has some problems to do with a few class 10 cards

Correct, don't know exactly why but I do know support wasn't surprised by the issue. They were more than happy to advance RMA.

Card arrived today. It came formatted in FAT32 but when I put it into my phone it reported it being damaged. After formatting the card through android it's working well and I've experienced no problems so far.
Ran the card through CrystalDiskMark and the card performs better than my previous Samsung UHS-1 card.

I too just bought 2 moto g 4G's on sale for $240 AUD to replace our samsung galaxy S3s...
Went to swap out the sandisk ultra micro SD neither card works in either moto g.

As well as the vibration motor sounds clunky and cheap, thinking about returning the handsets, not impressed.

Rang motorola support, guy says they have tested on their end moto g 4G with same micro SD card with no problems and that I probably have a faulty micro SD card....

Funny as both micro SD cards don't work in 2 different moto g handsets, there is clearly a problem with class 10 cards working with this handset....

I'm still running a class 10 64gb card with no issues here. I'm really wondering if there was an issue with the SD reader on first run units.

Add me to the list of people suffering from this issue. I have tried two Sandisk Mobile Ultra cards(32gb and 64gb) and neither work. Both mount but when I try to write to them I get "SD card was removed unexpectedly". I believe these cards are both class 6 too so that conflicts with what has been said about class 6 working. I spoke to Motorola tech support yesterday and they say they are looking in to this urgently. Very frustrating.

The class of the card is written on it, in an incomplete circle. As far as I can see from pictures on the net, Mobile Ultra cards are class 10 AND UHS-1, which seem to cause problems.
