Freezer worked for me.

Old post BUT...

I had same problem battery drained. Coma state.

I tried different USB cables; different amp wall plugs; 2-5 minutes depressing the power button; same with power & volume down button. I even took the battery out and charged it overnight with a little “jump start” pack I’ve made.

Nothing worked to get the phone out of a coma EXCEPT,

putting the phone in the freezer for 20-30 minutes.

Take out, place immediately onto a wall charger “ hello white screen with battery symbol sitting at 0%.. I’ve patted it down of water condensation to prevent shorting out. It’s now sitting on the charger and the charge is increasing.

Should be good to go now as it’s at least responding to button control unlike before.

Who’d have thought it.

Yes, Freezer did the trick

Oh, my. After nearly giving up after trying every other trick described here and around the web, I can confirm that the 'freezer expedition" actually did the trick.
After 25 mins in the freezer, wrapped in kitchentowel to keep it clean an prevent moisture, my device is back on, responsive and most important recognizing the charger and charging.
What puzzles me though is that it reports a 49% battery charge, which either means it wasn't empty when it died on me, or it was actually charging while i had it on the charger trying all the other stuff.

Anyway, im happy that it is working, but i'm a bit worried about the future predicaments it wil put me in (apart from the camara that's still not working, but that's a different story (and thread :) ))....

Thanks you lot, you saved me again!

Update: 30 mins later it had recovered to room temp and slipped back into the same comatose state - still blinking leds on press/hold power an vol. down buttons (repetitive short flash every 20 secs, along with 6 long flashes after a minute and 2 long flashes after 2 mins - is this some kind of error code maybe?) but no more coming on. Think i'll pronounce it...
Guess i'll send it in, since nothing seems to fix this...
