Aren't the g4 plus the same as ours. Can't we flash the same roms

Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
Yes, can flash the same ROMs. Even the stock ROMs are the same between the two.

My Camera on my MOTO G4 was refusing to start, and in the process of fixing I bricked my phone. I need the proper ROM for the XT1925 if someone has it.
Cheers.
If you mean XT1625, https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=24591023225178637

Does anyone know how to bypass WiFi hotstpot verification? I'm on cricket wireless and I just tried to use the hotspot, it says I need a subscription. I tried the Sq editor method but I can't find the database where tether entitlement is supposed to be. Any help? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure you need root to edit that database file anyway, and the only way to root is to unlock the bootloader, but the Cricket model cannot be BL unlocked. (someone in another topic said otherwise, but people who tried afterwards had no luck, so it might have been a fluke, or maybe they mixed up SIM unlock and BL unlock). Disregard, I don't know where I am

I am rooted, bootloader unlocked, xposed installed, the whole package. I have the retail g4 version, not the Amazon version with the ads. I tried to edit the database with Sq editor but when I go to settings. Storage. Providers (I think that's the route) it says there's no databases to show.

Shoot, sorry, for whatever reason I though I was in the Moto E 2nd Gen forum!

Try adding the following to the end of your build.prop:
net.tethering.noprovisioning=true

No worries, and thanks for the suggestion. I will try that as soon as I make a backup. I will post the result if it works, maybe help someone else.

Stuck in bootloader/twrp recovery mode

Moto G4, just bought a week ago. I unlocked my bootloader with ease, installed twrp 3.0.2 easily and flashed two things- One being xcodes or something that worked fine. Tried to flash SuperSU and my device was in bootloop. Then i tried to redownload stock android, and I am now stuck in bootloader mode. It reads-
Error: Failed to load kernel!
Fastboot reason fall-through from normal boot mode
I have access to twrp, but rebooting in any way leads me back to this screen. Any help?

Got my Moto G4 yesterday. My headphones don't fit all the way in in my 3.5mm jack. Any advice? And It didn't ship with the Turbo Charger but a standard Motorola branded AC. (Bought it in Serbia)

The only advice I can give is push it a little harder. There have been some problems with headphone connections playing from 1 ear only if you also run into that problem. One suggestion was to plug it in, pull it out partway, plug it in and reboot. (I think that's it). As for the charger, I believe that only the US phones shipped with the turbo charger.

Activate on Sprint?

Hi all,

I'm thinking of buying a Moto G4 and using it on Sprint, but I'm wondering how to activate it once I get it. I've checked the Sprint web site, but the steps aren't very clear to me.

Should I just take the phone into a Sprint store and ask them to activate it for me?

Thanks for any help.

Yes. You'll need a Sprint SIM card, which costs $10+ elsewhere. The Sprint store should give it to you free for signing up. Even though Sprint is CDMA, their phones (and Verizon's CDMA phones) use SIM cards for LTE connection. Sprint has 8 different SIM cards. You need SIM model SIMGLW446C for the Moto G4.

Thank you! I'll do that. I called a store yesterday and asked about the Moto G4, and the guy on the line told me depending on the model, some work with Sprint and some don't. That made me nervous that he didn't know what he was talking about, and I thought maybe I would do it myself. Maybe he was just confusing the Moto G4 with the LG G4? Who knows.

He did confirm that there was no charge for the SIM, and if it's supposed to work, then it will. Thanks for indicating the model number. I'll bring that with me when I go to the store.

Yep, thanks a lot man I just needed to add more pressure while pushing and now it fits in and works perfectly! Also yeah I think that the TurboCharger only ships in the US.

Unable to connect to windows

Just got a new Amazon G4. When i usb link it to my pc i cannot access the phones memory. It shows up as a device in windows explorer, but with no contents. If I try to add a file I get an error stating the device isnt responding. My moto X2 connects just fine. Usb debugging is on, and i tried with it off. Any ideas how i can fix?

I noticed on all my Marshmallow devices (see my signature) I have to swipe down the notifcation panel after I plug in. From there I touch the "USB for charging" and select "File transfers". This happens on my work and home computers (Window 7 and 10 respectively).

Anyone have a solution to this? I'm rooted and unlocked on an XT1625 Build number MPJ24.139-48. Latest (July 2016) OTA is not installed. I can do anything else in settings without a problem. I think I'm going to have to go back to stock and start from scratch to resolve this. Is ATHENE_MPJ24.139-48_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip the stock rom file? This phone is NOT the Amazon version.
