Can anyone help me, i flashed this firmware. The mobile booted to stock rom. After that, there was an update and i updated it. The phone restarted and started installing the update. But after that, the phones screen turned off. Now the phone is extremely unresponsive. Cant boot the phone(doesn't get powered on). Cant go into fastboot mode(even pressing volume down+ power does nothing) and the phone doesn't even charge. It just blinks the led while being put into charge. Please help, its urgent for me to bring this phone back to life.

If you flashed this stock firmware, which is really old (December 2016 security patch), it sounds like you hard bricked your device by using the OTA updates. The OTA update for the firmware may have corrupted your bootloader if you previously had newer stock firmware on your device.

I would recommend looking into this thread for help and guidance https://xdaforums.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/moto-g4-plus-hardbrick-solved-guide-t3657761

ok its just for stock rom what about custom rom Like RR oreo volte still not working??

What baseband do you have on your device and who is your VoLTE mobile provider? You may have to update to the latest baseband (for Indian devices, it's the baseband ending in .62.02R) for stable VoLTE. Easiest way would be to flash the latest NPJS25.93-14-18 April 2018 security patch firmware: https://xdaforums.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/stock-rom-npjs25-93-14-4-march-1-t3608138

I'm not sure what you're asking - if you've got an Indian device, I'd suggest updating your stock firmware to have the latest baseband. For G4/Plus Indian devices, the latest firmware appears to be NPJS25.93-14-18. Even if your VoLTE is working and is stable on stock, having the latest baseband is a good troubleshooting step to figuring out what the cause is with VoLTE not being stable on custom ROMs.

If your VoLTE is stable on stock ROMs and not stable on custom ROMs, if you've updated to the latest baseband, I'd consider checking the custom ROM mobile network settings including APN.

Actually thanks mate Changing the Baseband version fixes the VOLTE. I appreciate mate, Yes what i was asking you that
1. My retail variant is XT1624
2. Device is Moto g4
Question for you: So i can flash any stock firmware of other variants(Ex. XT1642 or XT1644 etc) on my device(Retail Varient XT1624)?

this is my question for you.

I'm not sure why you'd want to flash other variants' firmwares onto your device, though you could, it could leave you without OTA updates. The US firmware for XT1644 and XT1625 is different to other regions. If you're asking about the NPJS25.93-14-18 firmware, this firmware appears to have been deployed on Indian/Brazil/EU and UK devices, which includes XT1622/XT1642, XT1640,XT1643 and possibly XT1624. Thus, you've got one firmware covering multiple regions and this should flash okay to your device. Don't use the NPJ25.93-14 firmware - this is far too old.

What firmware are you flashing and do you see OKAY with each image that is flashed?

You do not need debug options to be active, what happened to your device before you had boot issues?

I flashed to this ROM to recover my bricked G4 Plus (I was previously on the latest version of the stock ROM, tried to change to LineageOS but failed) and I've been offered system update NPJS25.93-14-13. Would accepting this update brick my phone again? If yes then how can I update the software safely?

Hmm, I wouldn't use that update - if you were on the April 2018 firmware as you mentioned and you're now likely on the September 2017 firmware (since you're receiving the NPJS25.93-14-13 Dec 2017 update), using that OTA update may brick your device again.

Safest way to update would be to fastboot flash the April 2018 security patch firmware NPJS25.93-14-18 https://xdaforums.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/stock-rom-npjs25-93-14-4-march-1-t3608138 You can omit the bootloader locking and fastboot erase userdata commands if you wish to keep your data.

The stock ROM in this thread is very old (NPJ25.93-14 is December 2016 firmware), so I would not advise using this stock ROM in future, or if you do, do not use OTA updates.

If it's the warning about your bootloader being unlocked and your device can't be trusted, like this https://goo.gl/images/ck75gK then your best bet is to flash a custom logo.bin which should hide the warning. You cannot fully remove the warning without re-locking your bootloader and the custom logo.bin will not shorten the 5-10 second delay, but should make it nicer to look at.

For some logo.bin files: https://xdaforums.com/moto-g4-plus/themes/customized-logo-t3451349 https://xdaforums.com/moto-g4-plus/themes/boot-logos-custom-moto-g4-g4-plus-boot-t3640275 or if you wish to make your own https://xdaforums.com/moto-g4-plus/themes/guide-t3588090

This firmware can be flashed on Both locked and Unlocked Bootloaders

Moto G4 Plus [XT1640/XT1641/XT1642/XT1643/XT1644] ATHENE NPJ25.93-14 FASTBOOT + Relock Bootloader

1. Download the Minimal ADB and Fastboot = https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=745425885120698566
2. Install Minimal ADB and Fastboot = https://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
3. Moto Drivers
For Windows: http://www.devfiles.co/download/5eExXq3a/MotorolaDeviceManager_2.5.4.exe
For Mac:http://www.devfiles.co/download/i51GYJjz/MDM_Installer_2.2.9.dmg

4. Download Fastboot ROM Zip : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bx6eXSiwEdFFWXZyYjB5S0xlZWs/view :good:

Firmware via FASTBOOT:

1. Download the rar file and unzip it.
2.Extract all the files to your fasboot folder.
3.Restart the Moto G4 in fastboot mode.
4. Make sure that usb debugging is on.
5.Connect the Phone in fastboot mode to the computer

Run the "OEM Flash.bat" script that is inside the folder that is created when you unzip the file.(If you want to lock your bootloader Use "OEM lock.bat")

You Can also do it Manually In adb fastboot folder shift+right click and then in the pop up click open command window here

fastboot oem lock begin
fastboot oem lock begin
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img

fastboot erase clogo (optional: will erase the custom boot logo if ordered through motomaker)
fastboot oem lock
fastboot reboot

NOTE:

1. If you dont want to lock your bootloader just skip the "fastboot oem lock" and "fastboot oem lock begin" Commands

2. Since this file was compressed using 7zip you need 7zip to extract it using Winrar or Winzip will give you an error you can download 7zip from http://www.7-zip.org/download.html

3.Using the "OEM Flash.bat" or "OEM lock.bat" will wipe your data and all the Customizations like Root and Xposed and get it to Factory Condition if You are Reverting back to Stock from a Custom Rom Or Upgrading Stock it is Strongly Advised to Wipe your Data to avoid bugs and crashes(system/app)
In any case if you don't want to wipe data just remove this command "fastboot erase userdata" from the bat file or skip it if your flashing manually

This is the wrong place, please ask in Questions and Answers Section. Also, you can't get unlock data again.
Once you unlock your bootloader, follow this to get your one imei and fingerprint: https://xdaforums.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/guide-g4-baseband-network-volte-issue-t3865608

What is new in this?? This is the same old method, except the ROM is changed.. that's it! There are atleast 3 same guides like this.. one of them is this https://xdaforums.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/moto-g4-plus-xt1643-updated-signed-t3460695

why do we need to post the same thing again and again! :/

This is the default method to flash any ROM via fastboot and it removes all your user data and root... (did you mention this??)
Its not a new guide can you point out where i have mentioned that this is a new guide its just the new version NPJ 25.93-14
And fyki people in XDA are not dumb that they don't even know that using erase user data and cache commands will wipe everything and for your knowledge skipping these commands won't wipe anything from the phone and let me also tell you that the thread you have quoted has noting to do with NPJ25.93-14 if you have a problem please don't visit the thread rather than telling other's what they should do

This is for people who want to upgrade to the latest version using fastboot and they can find the ROM and the method in one thread rather than searching in 100s of threads If you know how to do it good for you
    3
Does anyone have a link for download NPJS25.93-14.4 (XT1626)?

For just the OTA (which is the 1st March 2017 security update) https://xdaforums.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/official-moto-g4-plus-ota-update-build-t3584982

    Flash via stock recovery.

If you're looking for the fastboot stock ROM with 93-14.4 included... we don't have one yet (so no bootloader relocking if you've updated to 93-14.4, unfortunately). This fastboot ROM is the latest system image we currently have.

Do they just check bill and date of purchase??
Actually it depends on them. Can't say anything.
