can i flash xt1225 rom onto xt1254 ?
bootloader already unlock on mine 1254.
Revisiting this question from a few months ago. The answer used to be no, and usually is no. But now @iiWoodstocK has made a TWRP-flashable version of the XT1225 Brazil Marshmallow which DOES work on the Droid Turbo XT1254.answer is No.
If you flash it you have to be rooted and have TWRP installed. Verizon's VoLTE will not work on the Droid Turbo, but everything else does. It's pure factory Marshmallow for ANY Quark -- XT1254, XT1250, XT1225. It will use whatever radio you already have installed.this ROM is just factory Marshmallow with a modded build.prop. I didn't include any radio in the .zip, so it uses whatever is currently on the device. Aside from my build.prop tweaks, this ROM is even usable for Brazilian XT1225 users, but the device will say it's a Droid Turbo and contain useless CDMA build.prop lines.

So, no you can't flash straight factory XT1225 over XT1254, but you can install this version below and it will work:
[ROM][6.0.1][Stock][Odexed]MPG24.107-70.2 Brazilian 6.0.1 for XT1254[TWRP Flashable]

Still waiting for 5.0.2 when Marshmallow is out for the Mexico phone? 5.0.2 was released over a year ago for the XT1225.Guys, is it normal that I'm still waiting OTA for Mexican 5.0.2 (22.34.13 retla)? My bootloader is unlocked and phone originally had puertorican firmware because was bought in PR. System updates keep telling me that they were up to date. Maybe it's because I'm in Europe now?![]()

Then you are waiting for the 6.0.1 OTA.No, I have 5.0.2 which doesn't update to Marshmallow. Bootloader was unlocked so I flashed Mexican 5.0.2 year ago not to wait puertorican OTA for 4.4.4. Since then I haven't received any updates. And now it seems all regions finally received Marshmallow but OTA for me is still out there.
You need to go back to your region S.O.No, I have 5.0.2 which doesn't update to Marshmallow. Bootloader was unlocked so I flashed Mexican 5.0.2 year ago not to wait puertorican OTA for 4.4.4. You need to go back to your region S.O.
If your phone was puertorrican Maxx, then you need to flash the puertorrican Lollipop.
Motorola doesnt send the OTA if you change the firmware region.
Flashing Puerto Rico is your best bet. What would you suggest either flash Puertorican 5.0.2, then wait for OTA or flash Puertorican 6.0.1 or Mexican 6.0.1 straight away? If I flash Mexican, I won't get security patches etc from Google probably. So question is: flashing Puertorican 5.0.2 or 6.0.1?
I pointed that out to @bhb27 10 days ago, but didn't hear a response. @terenos else found it and it was newer than what @bhb27 had in his archives. Even FileFactory doesn't have that posted yet.@bhb27 Newer Stock ROM for Moto Maxx (With Dec 2016 security update)

@sourav92, is your bootloader locked also? With bootloader lock, it's hard to help.Looking for the same from long ago![]()
I was in the same situation just few months back. Anyhow I managed to get back my device with updated factory version to visit the Motorola service center as they have the updated current firmware. But for safer side it would be helpful if we have the updated firmware.@sourav92, is your bootloader locked also? With bootloader lock, it's hard to help.
With unlocked bootloader, we could tell you exactly how to recover the phone.
- You could flash the exact same version of XT1225 firmware you need, but just for another region (Brazil) and it would work PERFECTLY. Has the December update and everything.
XT1225_QUARK_RETBR_6.0.1_MPGS24.107-70.2-7_cid12_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml -- but it's for Brazil.
With an unlocked bootloader, that would not matter. In the past, I have flashed India Turbo XT1225 firmware over two of my three XT1225 (both bootloader unlocked) -- one of them from Mexico and one from Puerto Rico. The XT1225 are all the same device, same FCC ID, just different model names for different regions. But with locked bootloader, you can't do that.
- Or with unlocked bootloader, you could even downgrade to slightly lower version of India firmware -- but just omit GPT.bin file when flashing in ADB. You could even downgrade all the way to Lollipop, and I know one person who flashed Kitkat 4.4.4 on his Moto Turbo XT1225. Kitkat never came with Moto Turbo XT1225 (it launched with Lollipop 5.02, several months after Latin America XT1225 launched with Kitkat 4.4.4.) So, they used a Latin American XT1225 KitKat image to flash over their India Moto Turbo XT1225 (which had unlocked bootloader, of course).
But with locked bootloader, you have no choices like that. Bootloader unlock for the XT1225 is free from Motorola with code given on request. This can't help you but may help someone else:
UPDATED GUIDE: How to unlock your MOTO MAXX/MOTO TURBO bootloader/install TWRP/root
I hope both of you find the the firmware you need. But as these Quark phones get older, people are not uploading firmware like they used to (even on File Factory) because there's not as much demand, I guess. So, you have to TAKE CONTROL of your device, OWN your device -- unlock the bootloader and you have many, many more options.
Look my post above. Do you try the file of brazillian's version?short story::

I tried with the last Brazilian version , but no luck.. I had to visit the service center. So I believe with locked bootloader we can only flash the official regional firmware only.Look my post above. Do you try the file of brazillian's version?
@ChazzMatt, do you have the updated/factory version boot animation zip file for moto XT1225 ? If you have, can you please upload the same?@sourav92, is your bootloader locked also? With bootloader lock, it's hard to help.
