I'm assuming possibly incorrectly that the MM update will include updated firmwares.

But, will it be possible to update officially without losing BL unlock?

Don't ever take the official Verizon update. You would have to lock your bootloader back, I'm sure and Sunshine is a one-time only unlock.

Well, the Droid Turbo XT1254 was handicapped by the locked bootloader until November 2015. But all the other Quarks (XT1250, XT1225) have unlocked bootloaders from the beginning -- including the "Droid Turbo"-identical FCC ID U.S. Moto Maxx XT1250 (sold by regional U.S. CDMA/LTE carriers) that runs on Verizon with a Verizon SIM card like a non-Verizon Nexus 6. IT'S THE EXACTLY SAME DEVICE AS THE DROID TURBO. Many people bought it instead of the Droid Turbo, rooted it, and ran it with xposed, ect.
I actually tried finding a Droid Turbo but they were not an easy find.

@jcase actually commented on Verizon relocking the bootloader via update. He did day it was possible but highly improbable due to the liklohood of possible bricking. At least that's the way I understood it.
I just wouldn't trust any updates from Verizon. ;) Let someone else take the chance. Everything will be made available via custom ROM soon after anyway.

I wasn't too worried, only mildly curious. The Moto X 2nd Gen I had a while back received some camera improvements with an update once, via firmware I'm guessing.

Does anyone know if CM offers any improvements on audio for Verizon XT1254 users? My main issues with the phone are low headphone volume, low earpiece volume , etc.

CM12.1 with CM12.1-based BHB27 custom kernel -- using Kernel Aduitor app settings. Adjust the audio all you want.

You can just use straight CM12.1, if you want, but the BHB27 kernel lets you tweak more stuff.

Huge Question @ChazzMatt been driving me nuts for days.........Whats the difference in Motorola Moto Maxx and per say..... The VERIZON DROID Turbo?

Thanks for your time...

*smirks*
A better question would be the difference in the Moto Turbo XT1225 and the Droid Turbo XT1254. ;) There will be a quiz.

Two Moto Quarks called Turbo. But, in my opinion, the Moto Turbo is the better one for many reasons I won't detail here.

An even better question is what's the difference in the U.S. Moto Maxx XT1250 (not to be confused the the "international" Moto Maxx XT1250) and the Droid Turbo XT1254. Nothing. The XT250 and XT1254 are exactly the SAME phone, down to the FCC ID.

But maybe you don't know about the ignorant people a year ago who at first wouldn't believe the facts, because they would rather believe they had an "exclusive" phone no one else could get. They believed Verizon's marketing lies.

That belief was somewhat shattered when Motorola released Quarks elsewhere (in other countries, namely the two XT1225 models), but the Verizon fanbois still said the Droid Turbo was exclusivein the U.S. uh, no.

The U.S. Moto Maxx is identical to the Droid Turbo -- same bands, same FCC ID -- except the XT1250 has free unlock- able bootloader via Motorola. So it in that way it's better than the Droid Turbo.

After a while the ignorant people shut up, because the facts were too overwhelming.
_________

But the point is, it helps to KNOW all this because for the Droid Turbo users to find custom ROMs, custom kernels, TWRP even -- you HAVE to go over to the Moto Maxx/Moto Turbo forum. We all used to be one forum until it got split back in September 2015 -- BEFORE the Droid Turbo bootloader got unlocked by devs two months later. Ironic, yes? :silly:

Do you see any Marshmallow ROMs yet here in the Droid Turbo forum? No, not at the date this is written. But there's two Marshmallow ROMs over in the other forum that are being installed by savvy Droid Turbo users because they know a Quark is a Quark. ;)

Do you see TWRP custom recovery posted in the Droid Turbo forum? No. But TWRP built for Quark also runs on Droid Turbo (Quark).

There's 4 Lollipop ROMs over there and 2 Marshmallow ROMs over there for Droid Turbo users. The Quark CM dev was nice enough to post CM 12.1 over here, but really all the CM Droid Turbo activity is taking place OVER THERE.

Maybe the forums shouldn't have been split? :)

I also have straight talk, it turned out to be an Apn issue for me. Open up the APN VZWINTERNET and change VZWINTERNET to TRACFONE.VZWENTP

Can you list all your APN settings
These are my Internet apn:

My mms Apn was as follows:

Name: VERIZONMMS
APN: TRACFONE.VZWENTP
Proxy: blank
Port: blank
Username: blank
Password: blank
Server: blank
MMSC: http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy: blank
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 012
Authentication type: not set
APN Type: mms

It was necessary for me to have the mms Apn separate from my Internet apn.
Also, once you save the mms Apn, it'll disappear from your APN list, but will be active.
You can try using the Internet apn without the custom mms Apn and see if it'll work for you, but it did not for me.

Note: these will only work if you have Straight Talk Verizon service, you'll need other apns if you have At&t or tmobile service.

Seems if I in any way touch my APN settings I get NO internet.

Soon as I put "VZWINTERNET" in APN it pops right back to 3G

I dont get it.
Vzwinternet does work for some people, some have to use TRACFONE.VZWENTP. It's odd.
