Stock CM here. No lag experienced here, could it be the launcher you're using if it's home screen jerkiness? CM kernels have always been the most reliable since CM6 in my opinion.

No, I run the Google Now Launcher on my Turbo, baybutcher's kernel seemed to help a lot. I just set the governor to conservative.

Has anyone found out why some people are experiencing 3g lock? Im about to switch to cm but i want to make sure ill get proper service.
I've never had a connectivity issue that couldn't be resolved by going to Settings → Mobile Network and changing Preferred Network from LTE to Global or to 3G, and then back to LTE. I've only done this twice. But I've also had to do this when my Turbo was completely stock and locked. I'd switch from CDMA to GSM and back again (or something like that) because I'd be stuck on 3G. I did this at least once a month.

My point is that I don't think this has any connectivity issues. Cell phones are just annoying.

Ok so I'm thinking of given this CM 12 a try. But I have a few questions. 1) can I talk and be on the internet at the same time Verizon Droid Turbo XT 1254. Next do I have to flash a different recovery other than what I currently use TWRP. 3) is there a custom kernel to flash or the one with the rom good enough. 4) do most apps like Xblast work with this rom.. Thanks in advance.

I have a Verizon Turbo 1254 that I'm using on at&t. H+ is great at all, and I even pull LTE in certain areas, but would it be possible to enable more bands by cross flashing a different variants radio or otherwise?

No. You can flash the XT1250 radio, but it has the same FCC ID and same bands as the XT1254.

While the XT1250/XT1254 has the same FCC ID, the XT1225 has a different FCC ID because it has more LTE bands, more HSPA bands but no CDMA. The radios between the XT1250/XT1254 and the XT1225 are not compatible.

Not to get off thread topic, but don't be fooled. I've helped friends and coworkers with iPhone problems. It's all the same. We don't own them, so we don't know them. But I agree that our next phone should say Nexus on it.

You shouldn't have to change a ROM that works straight out of the box for so many, but rooting isn't always glory and gold like people say... Go into your recovery and re-flash the ROM. Install it right over itself. Don't re-flash Gapps and don't wipe System or Data. After the flash is finished, wipe Cache and reboot. Let us know how that goes.

Before the Moto Maxx XT1225 (sibling to the Droid Turbo), my previous two phones (gen3 Galaxy Nexus, gen5 LG Nexus 5) were Nexus phones -- plus I have Nexus tablets. And yeah, multiply all that by two, for me and my wife.

I was a big Nexus fanboi.

But Google should have released the 5.2" gen 6 Nexus 6 they were testing as late as mid-August 2014 instead of the 6" whale they went with. THAT is the only reason I don't own a Nexus phone now.

The 5.2", 1440p Snapdragon 805, 3GB RAM, 3900 mAh battery with Qi wireless charging Quark was what the 2014 Moto Nexus 6 SHOULD HAVE BEEN. 90% same specs, but BIGGER battery, and in a reasonable size. I bought three of these Quarks, I love them so much -- one for me, my wife, and a backup still in the box. It was never about the cost -- it was about specs and size.

You know how they admit it? BOTH the 2015 Nexus phones are SMALLER (5.7" and 5.2") than the Nexus 6! But, the current 2015 Nexus phones are crap -- Nexus 6P is still too big and the 5X is too underpowered (2GB RAM, 1080p, no Qi). HA! My 2014 phone is better than that!

Give me a Nexus phone like the 2014 Quark but updated... 5.2", top specs including latest Snapdragon -- and even throw in OIS rear camera and stereo speakers. I'll buy it. I bought three of these, so I'll surely buy a Nexus phone like that!

FYI: proof CM13 is coming!

System UI Tuner is not explicitly present in CM13, and is already in CM12.1 through the edit interface, which is just changed. Now on Tap is nice, can't tell much about Doze since things are still broken :p

Marshmallow?????? HOW??? :D
Because @ Skrilax_CZ is the Quark CM dev. ;)

But CM13 still needs more work to run without issues. Give him time.

Hey, I was running BHB27 kernel over CM12.1 snapshot, and battery life seemed a bit better, but I found that Bluetooth call audio was completely nonfunctional in my car... Tried finding a fix for it but couldn't locate it. Have you had any issues there?

Complete side note. I had an issue sending mms with messenger. Was able to get it to send with Hangouts. Going to try messenger again tomorrow with the new 1.7 update. I am currently on the latest snapshot for reference.

I'm pretty much with you on that. I've had Nexus phones since the 4 (even though I was tempted by a few others here and there, but I always went back). I was completely turned off by the Nexus 6 so I skipped. I really really was tempted by the Droid Turbo but the bottom line was that I need a phone that is unlocked and has substantial dev work going on so at the end of the day I didn't bite.

On another note I still thought that the 6P was too large but after spending some time with it I was pretty surprised how quickly I adjusted to it.

Well, the Droid Turbo XT1254 was handicapped by the locked bootloader until November 2015. But all the other Quarks (XT1250, XT1225) have unlocked bootloaders from the beginning -- including the "Droid Turbo"-identical FCC ID U.S. Moto Maxx XT1250 (sold by regional U.S. CDMA/LTE carriers) that runs on Verizon with a Verizon SIM card like a non-Verizon Nexus 6. IT'S THE EXACTLY SAME DEVICE AS THE DROID TURBO. Many people bought it instead of the Droid Turbo, rooted it, and ran it with xposed, ect.

We've had substantial dev work on the Quarks with custom ROMs, custom kernels, custom TWRP recovery.

In fact we had so much dev work the Droid Turbo users got mad (because they couldn't participate with locked down bootloader) and had the forums split... ;) So now that they do finally have unlocked bootloader, they have to over to the Moto Maxx/Moto Turbo forums to see all the Quark ROMS...

http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-maxx

  • CM12.1,
  • Mokee (based on AOSP)
  • Resurrection Remix,
  • Nexus Experience,
  • Xperia...
  • And somebody is working on MIUI ROM.

they all run all Quarks, including the Droid Turbo.

Sadly we are still on Lollipop 5.1.1, not Marshmallow yet. Hopefully soon!
