Hey all,

Do you know if this upgrade to kit kat will allow us to use miracast on our RAZR I ?
I cannot understand if this is just a software issue and if it is a standard feature in kit Kat... But it appears not to be in our jelly bean and cannot find any app to add support... Looks like the OS needs an extra something:(

It has been confirmed that we won't have it due to intel supporting another standar, sorry m8.

Lots of questions about the status of razr i... no answers yet...

If Moto actually follows through and gives us the RAZR i KitKat update, I'll probably get an X+1 (if it has an SD slot) or the new MotoG. Otherwise I guess I'll just stick with iPhone for now.

Latest KitKat news from David on G+

Sorry for the delay in giving an update on the RAZR i upgrades but I had to wait unit Google announced KitKat 4.4.4 today (I am bound by a NDA). A significant security vulnerability was discovered by OpenSSL (https://www.openssl.org/news/secadv_20140605.txt) and is fixed in KitKat 4.4.4. We had to wait until the security patch became available for 4.4.2. Consequently, all of our upgrades that were in carrier labs worldwide had to be respun, tested and resubmitted again. We still expect to get the RAZR i 4.4.2 upgrades (with the security issue fixed) out in the Q3.

I come back here every once and a while to see if it might be worth plugging in my formerly beloved RAZR i - to no avail. Incredible to realize that NINE months ago when I switched to iPhone we were still wondering when/if we would ever get kitkat update. My iPhone has received five updates in that time and is now solid beyond belief and will be updated regularly for at least the next three years. The Android update model is broken.

Please, take you're icrap and shove it up somewhere so freaking far we wont hear a word from you here again about you're **** phone. Thanks!

    Good for you! :good:
You get the almost same experience in terms of performance.
Minus: sd card slot, and maby more poor battery life. I don't think anybody cares about you decided to throw money at something not even worth the upgrade.

wasn't this thread supposed to be about news for the kitkat update only, and not for you all to whine because you can't wait.

Ok folks, it's time to show some tears of happiness. I found this on a Brazilian Motorola's post about Moto X

    Captura_de_tela_de_2013_11_03_22_11_03.png

    I'll translate it:
    Some guy say:
"I'm waiting the Razr I update to Android 4.2"

    And Motorola Brasil replies:
"Fabrício, keep calm. The Razr I will be updated, but to a version above Jellybean. We will post more informations as soon we have it"

    This surely make my day
