hi all.

Please, don't shout me! I would like as much help as possible for my damage :crying:. I am concerned, i don't know what else I can do!

Unfortunately, while I mounted the new digitizer to my defy I mistakenly blew up a piece of the motherboard. the piece in question is the power/lock button.

here's how the power and volume buttons are normally presented and my power button is presented on the motherboard.

I looked all over the web for repairing this damage or to buy directly a new motherboard. the problem is that on the web are not for sell replacement parts like this :(

I also suggested to bring it to assistance putting all the small pieces of broken button inside the phone to make it look like a fault, but it's clearly visible that the phone is half worn considering the new digitizer and the screws are stripped so you can see clearly that was disassembled and tampered...can anybody help me?

It's broken so needs replacement with a new 'tact' switch by soldering a replacement in it's place. I repair similar equipment and know it's possible to do although not a home diy repair unless you're skillful with a soldering iron and can buy the replacement part. I would hope a phone repair workshop could help with this.

Tact switches come in all shapes and sizes so you need to find a suitable one.

Sorry it's not much help.

edit: This site sells them:http://stellatech.com/site_stellatech/motorola-defy-mb525-power-switch-(electrical),a,en,811504.html
and these on Ebay look similar (but only a quess) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10pcs-4-7...al_Components_Supplies_ET&hash=item460b40052a

I never thought of being able to fix something like that :) The important thing is that one can fix this damage and that's really enough :) now there's nothing left for me to order those buttons and to solder it on the mobo. I have found those momentary tact buttons that you linked from ebay on amazon.com so I can ship it in my country :) I have the uncle of my friend who has a soldier station that can do the job :) thank you so much for the answer, you've given back my hope :victory:

and sorry for my bad english!

When soldering the new part be very careful! - do not heat the pins of the tact switch for too long or you'll possibly damage the new tact switch. These items are very small and the heat from the soldering iron can damage if you keep soldering the metal legs too long. Good luck!

most likely you have also damaged other parts of the board. replacing the power button may or may not fix it.
consider ordering a new/used board from china websites.
