After reading that post (which only served to confirm my suspicions), I'm of the belief that it would have been best if Motorola would have just shipped out the modules for user installation.

If this is all true then honestly, this could have been the only post needed to justify our frustration but if my Xoom is coming back in one piece and not a replacement because it was stolen by a worker, I will just be thankful.

Here's my story so far:
- Moto received on 10/5/11
- Moto indicated it was received on 10/6/11
- RMA processed on 10/10/11
- Device Shipped back via Fedex Overnight on 10/11/11

Should be here tomorrow. FWIW, I didn't get a single email except the one saying they received it. No email that RMA was done and that it was shipped so go check often!

Good luck.

@XoomGuy
So I shouldn't be worried that my Xoom is lost or stolen because it has been showing as having a SIM installed and shipped since Oct 6th but not updated to show that the shipping confirmation was in error per customer service/notification email?

My biggest fear is that my Xoom has been lost and I'll be waiting for a few weeks to get a replacement.

Last night my status was empty. On my way to work, I saw an email saying that it should arrive today. I'm a bit frustrated that I had no warning when it was shipped so I could get the day off. I will have to dip it in bleach because after the FTC complaint, the BBB complaint and
reminding Andy Rubin of all of Sanjay's lies while blaming Google for Motors epic fail with the XOOM and with Blur which is deserving of a beating, I'm afraid to touch it. LOL
We've been joking that Sanjay's been peeing on it and wiping his butt with it. Anyone wanna buy a XOOM with a mysterious substance coating it and an odd smell coming from it? Lol.

MOTO says mine shipped out yesterday.

FedEx tracking number has being shipped today with estimated delivery for tomorrow. It's been a horrible experience with this update.

On a side note that package size is 4lbs which is double the weight of the package that I sent to them. So hopefully that means I get my dock.

Got mine today (Wed) was shipped Last Monday

OK got mine finally on Wed the 12th. I shipped it last Monday the 3rd.

Anyways not sure if anyone has answered this yet but if you had a custom ROM on your when it was shipped out it will come back wiped clean with stock 3.2.2 on it.

I have since unlocked mine and rooted, but I have not put on a Overclocked kernel yet because I am not positive it will not break my 4g.

Apparently [Kernel] Rogue 1.3.1 "Arcturus" (Updated 9/5/11) will break your 4g.

One person said that [KERNEL][AOSP]Tiamat Xoom 2.1.0 "Tachi" [Update: 08/03] will not break 4G. Can anyone else confirm? I would love to get overclocking back especially before I started reloading all my apps.

(what I would really love is a new version of the "[ROM] Team Tiamat Xoom Rom 2.2.2 - Moray [9/10/11]" Rom that worked with 4G so that I could just restore my backup before sending it off and then just upgrade to that ROM so I wouldn't have to wipe everything and reload apps.)

According to the Tachi thread, it appears that some are now having connectivity issues with that kernel on 3.2.2 as well. It doesn't break 4G but creates switching issues between 4G, 3G and WiFi that only a reset seems to fix.

Just got mine back.

It was encrypted, so I guess they were able to just flash the system partition without disturbing the data. Wasn't wiped, booted into 3.2.2

Factory fresh, no scratches. Free dock.

About to test the 4g.
