With Android Go giving lesser hardware a fighting chance, I figured there'd be a good chance someone would try to get it to work for the Xoom. I'm glad to see I was right! My Xoom is probably never going to give up but the ROM it's running right now is really laggy and drains the battery quickly. CM11 I think? it was the only ROM i could get to work of the ones i was both interested in and there were still working download links for when I installed it. I think i messed up the bigpart thing but eh.

From everything I've seen, anything that works on Wingray works on Stingray. Only difference is that Stingray's stock supports LTE and Wingray's doesn't, the rest of the software is pretty much exact the same.

Ok so i have started developing a oreo rom (Android 8.0) for motorola i have made the zip to flash it and will flash and give you guys an update on whats working and whats not and if the zip file works. I started developing about a week ago so nothing will work properly yet.;)
Update: Forgot to mention its lineage os 15 but I used files from 14.1 I'll be a day or two for a zip file again :(
Update: Could be months before this comes out cause my computer has 4gb of ram I'm getting a new one soon and putting Ubuntu on to it I know this is frustrating for you but I promise the Xoom will be running Oreo smoothly soon.
Which roms run good on the mz604? Which recovery is needed and are kernels needed? Thanks

7.1.2

I'm using this 7.1.2 from crDroid that works pretty well - can be found on this site - but it is still outdated. Was hoping not to have to recycle this little tablet that I love but it is getting slow slow slow
Where did you get 7.1.2 for the motorola xoom tablets I thought the latest was 6.0.1 for the tablets.

sorry for late reply but you can use twrp for your recovery, 5.0 and 6.0 are available for the motorola xoom but they are real slow so I slowly recommend 4.4.4 custom rom, for kernals not to sure most of the kernals for the xoom on this website work fine

I also look forward to a version for the late tablet.. What is the best room to use in 2020???
It seems we are on our own, I'm configuring the environment required to build LineageOS 14.1 (Android 7.1.2) so if you or anybody else may contribute on building it or guide me on how to do that I would really appreciate it because just reading tutorials is very hard.

future of Xoom

I also look forward to a version for the late tablet.. What is the best room to use in 2020???
I personally tried nearly all Roams to get my Xoom running. Came up to conclusion:
1. AOSP Android 6 - Play Store Updates, Skype, Viber, Firefox, Camera don't work.
2. OMNI Android 5.1.1 - Play Store Updates, Skype, Viber, Firefox don't work.
3. Cyanagemod 11 - Firefox, Chrome, Skype don't work. Viber works in chat mode only.
I used Dolphin browser. Other than that it is very stable so far.
So, the best option is Cyanagemod 11..0.

I also hope somebody bright headed will manage to develop LineageOS for Xoom, keeping fingers crossed.
:)

CM11.0 download link

Do you have a working download link for cyanogen 11?
I can't send a direct link
To prevent spam on the XDA forums, ALL new users prevented from posting outside links in their messages. After approximately 10 posts, you will be able to post outside links. Thank you for understanding!
Try website androidfilehost.com page 217761. Or go to Home-Motorolla-Xoom-svbarbosa on that website.
I sure you'll find its download page.

Good luck!

I use cm11 on wingray. It is the best I have found. You have to use the chromium browser for full function browser. Some apps don't work anymore due to the non neon processor.
