Re: [ROM] MROM-d2spr [4.2.2][CM10.1][3.0.66] build:20130301

Super smooth ROM. Hopefully the home button bug will not appear in a couple of days like all the AOSP ROMs have..

For those who are going to end up asking: LTE works.

I have lte working as well. What is the home button bug? I've only run one other aosp rom , and there was no apparent problems.

Downloading now!

The Home button bug he's referring to happens after you've been running an AOSP ROM for a couple of days.. When you press the home button, instead of going to your home, it'll just keep pulling up Recent Apps. Normally a simple reset will help the problem.

I hope its fixed on this rom!

It's not, at least for me it isn't. I just got it today. But yeah a simple reboot fixes it temporarily.

I've been on this rom for about a day and so far so good. It is very smooth and I am using Lean Kernel by imoseyon. No home button bug so far. I uninstalled Superuser with no issues so far.

I've ran aosp since I got a gs3. Close to a year now and I've never had that bug.

This is a common problem effecting many users running CM10 and CM10.1. The main problem is that suddenly, there is a slowdown in the lost frames > beyond 30 per second, which is the limit in the code. It seams to appear more often when the phone sleeps for a while, like charging all night, when it suddenly wakes up, this behavior can occurs..

I am currently investigating this problem, I though I found the cause with my last update, but I did not...

Again, this problem is present in all CM-10 and CM-10.1 ROMS for the SGS3.

Now, I am interested in people that don't get the problem, I would like to know why? Please list modifications that you made, or your phone usage during the day, or anything that can help in solving this...

Liquid smooth rc1 running anthrax. I've always ran anthrax on aosp Roms. That could be the issue. Might be kernel based. Only aosp ROM I haven't ran is true CM. I've ran carbon aospa liquidsmooth PAC never had that issue.

mmontuori, I've been a big fan of your work since MROM on the HTC Incredible 2, and I knew I could count on you to deliver for the GS3. Flashing this ROM marks my return to AOSP after getting cozy on TouchWiz for a while, and I'm loving it so far. Many thanks.

This ROM is working fantastically. MMS and 4G!

I've had the home button bug in the past, but not yet with this ROM. Does following the directions in the OP for booting once before flashing gapps affect this? Did people who are seeing the issue do that? Also, you did do a full wipe right?

My only issue so far is battery life, but I've had problems with it on all AOSP builds. I haven't changed the kernel or made any other modifications.

Thanks for the feedback... this Home button only shows up under certain conditions, like long sleep and sudden wake up. You mention battery life, what exactly are you running? I know this is a delicate subject, but have you tried to see if one of your application is using more battery than it should? Normally I troubleshoot this type of problems with System Tuner Pro, and record things for a while to see which application or part of the OS is using excessive battery...

What's the correlation with the bug and gesture typing streaks becoming smaller? The streaks always become smaller when the bug appears. My streaks are smaller but no bug present yet..

I am actively trying to debug this problem. It appears that the problem is related to the frame refresh, when more than 30 frames are skipped, then the problem occurs. What makes the frames skip is not clear yet...

To answer your question, yes could be very related, please provide your logcat before the bug occurs... if this message reaches you on time... :)

Re: [ROM] MROM-d2spr [4.2.2][CM10.1][3.0.66] build:20130301

I just want to note that I flashed this ROM maybe 2 hours ago and I've made no tweaks and I haven't had the bug. I wiped everything then flashed the rom and the 3/1 gapps together. No problems. This rom runs great! :)

The bug we are discussing, if you are gong to see it, only shows up after 24-48 of uptime. Thanks for installing the rom...

i've been wanting to assist a dev get to the bottom of the issue for the past 3 months...would love to help you as much as possible. Let's communicate via gchat. i'm at: [email protected]

Another persistent issue that I have found with AOSP ROM's is the camera. When I focus the camera, the image on the screen (what the camera is pointing at) begins to lag and the begins to move in frames. so when i move the camera from point A to point B, the screen on the phone lags and images are moving in frames. When I use Instagram's camera and use the focus function, nothing happens. Anyone know the root of this issue? Could I use the new 3/1 gapps on this ROM mmontuori?
