my head unit is MTCB-ZD-V2.68

Currently, everything is as it came from eonon, but after this week losing tom tom ability to upgrade or redownload, i'm hoping tomtom go works on 5.1.1?

Can anyone tell me how to get into recovery mode so as to allow me to install this firmware please?
TomTom would work under either KK or LP. But you'd have to install it from Play store and have a valid ro.serialno parameter, which is set by the mtcxp xposed module.
See also this thread: #1.

Fortunately all is preset under my firmware (KK & LP).

Getting into recovery is done by holding down the Volume/Power button.
The update.img file is usually detected when on (first) SD, too, under a running HU.

===
BTW, if you have a KK unit, you may just install the Xposed framework & installation app, and the mtcxp xposed module. The ttxp module would not hurt either. But given that TT specific storage support is provided by firmware, I would upgrade still.

beautiful stuff, due an sdcard in the post today and will get this installed... main reason i bought the hu was to use navigation (tomtom my fave nav after trying the others) so without a decent gps nav app, it's pretty useless

cant wait to get ya rom installed and have a tinker, cheers bro

I have installed this on my Eonon 6155F headunit in my 2009 Vauxhall Astra. Before I had this ROM I couldn't use my steering wheel controls to change song and now I can with the arrow buttons but I have a problem. The little scroll wheel that gets used to cycle through the center console screen also changes the song playing on bluetooth.

Does anyone know how to fix this so that only the arrow buttons change the song and not the scroll button?

Not so sure, but there is a built-in key setup app, maybe you could associate the scroll wheel signal with something else? Or, check up the HeadUnit app settings (disable something)?

I've tried using the Key Setup and pressing buttons do absolutely nothing when I'm in there.

I'll try to make a video showing what's wrong tomorrow. I mean other than this really annoying thing it's so much better than the crap it came with. I couldn't even change song with the steering wheel at all with the stock OS and Bluetooth didn't work more often than it did work.
There's also another thing I'd like to know about. Is it possible to have my center screen say the name of song playing instead of "A2DP"?

I use Poweramp and keep songs locally (on SD or USB storage). It shows ample info if available.

I know exactly what your problem is, but not really sure how to solve it, you could try using one of the CAN Bus apps from the other ROM on this one.

You would have to de-compile the CAN Bus app and modify it o send the track name to the screen, some people have tried before, you d have to search the forum though as I cant remember what threads.

So I've came up with a kind of workaround to play my music for now by installing the mtcdtools apk and mapping the next and previous keys so that the Spotify app on the HU changes the song.

It's not ideal since I like to use Apple Music and Spotify when I'm driving but it'll do until it can be figured out what's up with the Bluetooth A2DP.

It only happens on A2DP app ?

So it turns out it actually affects CDs too which I found out when using a CD to see if the name of the track would show up on my screen.
Hmm, you could try the "Control settings" app from your previous ROM on this ROM. I think thats what its called on GM cars, the name is different for different manufacturers.

If that doesnt work you could also try the MTCCanbus app from your previous ROM on this ROM.

So I haven't seen a MTCCanbus app on my headunit ever and the only .apk I could find wouldn't install and I don't have a clue how I would go about using another version of the car settings app or where I would get it.

All units have MTCcanbus app, its hidden.

Download the ROM you had previously and extract the apk or re-install that ROM and extract the app with RootExplorer or APKinstaller app (its in the Playstore), then re-install this ROM and install the app.

You would use it the same as you use the current one, if you dont use it it doesnt matter, its what the app does thats important - it may solve your problem.

You do have "Controlsettings" on your unit ? I m talking about the app that controls things on the car, as I said in a previous post it can be called other things depending on your car type.

What CAN Bus setting is your unit on ?
