How to divide screen on 2 same size windows? I tried this manager but cant find perfect values...
when u click & drag an app from the multi window bar it should automatically take up half the screen(u will see a perfect square area highlighted in blue) drop it and then just pull the other app u wish to open out of the bar to the empty side(which will also illuminate) & when u release it the both windows should be an exact fit

i have updated the first post with instructions for phablet mode but make sure u read them carefully because u MUST install BOTH zips for your device as well as EDIT THE BUILD PROP...long story short the note 8 has hardware buttons & we dont

I downloaded the p6210 tablet version.
I didn't install any live wallpaper, I just disabled my pattern lockscreen and unticked weather and clock in lockscreen settings.
It works 200%, very nice indeed. Pin, minimise, maximise, yesssss!
Just two little things I have to complain about (don't feel offended, in my country complaining is a national sport:)):
first, the whitish tool bar looks ugly to my opinion but ok, that's a matter of taste and anyway when I have some time I can modify it with apk tools;
second, everytime my tablet boots the synchronisation icon is on which is a bit annoying since I want to avoid synchronisation at any cost. Any idea on how to disable it permanently?
Ok, enough whining, time to tell you a big THANK YOU, now my tab rocks!!!

i agree with u unclefab, the white tool bar is ugly or at least it didn't match with the rest of my theme so i created a new black translucent with red arrows multi window bar and added it to my original post...hope u like this one a lil better, i definitely do! As far as sync is concerned, i read about disabling google framework service BUT(BIG but) that method will also kill the play store...maybe one of the others guys might have a better idea though

Yeah, a black and red flash bar! That's funky, and definitely much better than this ugly whitish thing we had previously, thanks again mate!
Regarding sync, disabling the Google service framework won't work, and you know why?
Cuz I've uninstalled it from JB's update day one, along with all Google spyware like Google play and stuff.
The sync icon has something to do with the modifications in android police or in services because it started with the first mod you made (the small 2.8 mb v1)...
I've disabled sync and registered services in /data/system but the icon is still on when the tab starts.
It wouldn't be such a problem if it didn't drain my battery, because sometimes I forget to turn it off when I start the tab...
Any idea?
I keep on looking for a fix from my side...
Thanks again for this multi window mod!

The sync icon doesn't seem to do anything apart from pretending he's on, I've checked my tab's processes with os monitor and no trace of a sync process.
But still, I experience battery drain since v2. At first I thought it might be the flash bar (cuz I didn't use it on v1) and uninstalled it but nope, I still have battery drain.
So the only explanation I see now is the system ui app from the note 8, it's heavier than the default system ui and that could be the cause of for battery drain. Or, the fact that the system ui has been changed has messed up something with the battery (the same way that flashing a new Rom does) so I will use my tab until it's empty and then charge it full, and I'll report later.
Does anyone else experience it?

Hi all! First, thanks for the hard work, this is all I need to make this the perfect tablet for my current needs.

I'm having a problem installing this on my P6210 though. It seems to force cose touchwiz after I install this, boot, and unlock the tablet. I get an error that touchwiz has closed/not responding.

here's where my tablet is before the install:
installed clockworkmod-6.0.2.7 via Odin 1.85.
installed CWM-SuperSU via recovery.
installed JB rom located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2278740 via Odin 1.85.
did a nandroid backup
installed JB deodexed rom from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2279090
redid root as above...
did a nandroid backup

This gives me the following in device info:
Model number: GT-P6210
Android version: 4.1.2
Kernel version: 3.0.31-1177839
[email protected] #3
some other stuff
Build number: JZO54K.P6210XXMD3

All this seems to go well, except I don't see where to turn off ripple in Lock Screen options. I did turn on a live wallpaper though.

I then went back to recovery and installed all options of the 6210 found in the OP. First tried tablet v2b, then tablet v2c, then tablet, then the plain one that is labeled P6210MD3MultiWindow.zip. I did not try the phablet one as that one would require one of the v2s to work first. I did do a restore to my deodexed backup between each install.

Does anyone know what am I doing wrong? Am I not in the right version OS/kernel/fw? Am I doing things in the wrong order for after I have Deodexed? Why don't I have "ripple" options, or is that something that only shows after this mod?

Thanks for any help!

I hate to hear that you're having issues but i'm sure its something simple...my first suggestion would be to install another launcher BEORE u install the mod. I never use touchwiz personally(prefer apex)...plus i've heard a few users on on other devices say that this mod is not compatible with it anyway. To answer your other question ...yes, the ripple effect option only shows up after u install the mod. At this point, you need to only be using the files from the original post so no need for v2b, v2c etc...i think once u replace your home screen that u SHOULD be good to go

Ok, the thought of another launcher crossed my mind today (after I wrote this), but I quickly dismissed it as a Touchwiz ROM is needed for multiview. But ROM & using the actual launcher are two different stories, huh? I will try that and come back here.

I do the same, no more touch wiz, I use holo launcher hd.
Regarding the battery drain I experience, I emptied the tab two times then charged it full, I deleted battery stats, checked the os's processes but still have battery drain.
Like 20% per hour, not even multi tasking or using the multi windows but only plain internet browsing with opera mini.
Anyone experiencing it as well?
Any ideas on how to fix it?
Thanks for your answer...

Somewhere in The Earth
as i promised...here goes the xposed installer along with a few modules that will help u out. The multi window apps manager(the developer doesnt want the apk reposted so i instead provided a link to the original thread) will allow u to enable any app to work in floating/dual screen mode, the "app settings" module will allow individual dpi settings for apps, & "tweakbox" has various options such as volume button music controls & call recording! I also have a play store fix module if u may be having issues & a module to enable tablet mode without flashing...if anyone is interested i will upload upon request.

i'm not quite sure about your battery drain issue unclefab so maybe another user might have a clue...even with EVERYTHING on(wifi, gps, data, bletooth, screen on auto) & syncing(email, news, weather, several social sites, voice/groove ip, all google apps) i only lose like 3 percent every hour(of course thats WITHOUT use so that may be a lil high). Since u have already done what i would've suggested i only have a few other ideas....uncheck your "force gpu" settings under development options, uncheck "smart stay" if on, or change screen timeout. U can also try an app such as "better battery stats" or "wakelock detect" to see if u can isolate the issue...just checked my own battery stats and realized "wave control" was using as much juice as my screen is!
