Hi,

MW Commander is not working anymore. Are there alternatives for getting more apps to work with multiwindow?
Maybe by turning on the stock marshmallow multiwindow function?

Currently, it looks like the XTouchWiz Xposed module might be the only way to do this. I don't have Xposed installed, and so, can't try it out.

I looked into the MW Commander issue. All that MW Commander does is add the app name to /system/csc/feature.xml or /system/csc/others.xml under the <CscFeature_Framework_AddOnApp4MultiWindow> tag as discussed here. This CSC feature doesn't seem to exist in the S6 Marshmallow update. It might have been renamed or removed.

I'll have to get Xposed on my phone. I really miss being able to use multi-window with many apps.

It's ok with XTouchWiz! I have installed this 2 day ago.
Work fine for the multiwindow but the 2 split screen app only work with the native app.
Thank for the informations Why multiwindow commander don't work.

I can confirm that MW-Pen App Enabler that's from the same developer as MW Commander works on Marshmallow. It modifies the app itself and essentially automates the procedure outlined here.

MW-Pen App Enabler has two drawbacks:
  1. It doesn't work with some apps that do a lot of tamper detection (e.g. Waze and HBO Now won't work with this)
  2. Once you modify an app to enable multi-window / split-screen, it cannot be updated. If you want to update the app, you'll need to uninstall the modified version, and then install the new version from the Play store.
