Short answer: yes. Facebook still runs all the time for many bs reasons.

Longer: I assume you turned off sync to either save energy or data? Either way: ununstall facebook and use facebook through a browser. You can get desired notifications through email and you save even more data and energy.

- not from the PRC (I'm sorry, but I can't find ONE app from mainland China that doesn't call home or respects your privacy.)

I really like X-plore file manager. It has an interesting dual-pane approach, making it easy to keep track when copying/moving files between folders/devices. Also it has built-in support for other computers on your network.

I want to contribute with my favourite apps, but they are not only for LG G4, I have been using most of them since my LG G2.
Here they are:

Calengoo (best calendar app ever, I purchase this one 'cause its woth it. When you have a problem you can e-mail the developer and he always answer back and resolve any problem. I use it with my google calendar sync).
Chromecast (as I have my Google ChromeCast on a TV)
Custon Soundboard (As I use it for my director needs).
Hootsuite
Keepassdroid (Synced with my dropbox and my passwords are all there)
Kinscreen (Esp for my G4, as I was used to the G2 smart screen, and I don't have it in the new falgship. Even though I think Kinscreen is better, don't need to start such a big sensor camera).
Lighflow
Make your clock Widget
Map Marker (as I HATE google Maps not saving any description about the places you save, so you end up with a lot of stars on a map and never remember why you saved them in the first place!)
MusicBee Remote (for my PC MusicBee app)

Thanks for spreading the word about KinScreen! Just wanted to add that it doesn't use the camera and like all of my apps is as efficient on resources as I could possibly get it! Cheers.

That's what I meant. Your app Kinscreen is better than having smart screen, because in a phone with such a large sensor (8mp) I guess that starting the camera only for keeping the screen on doesn't make much sense.

Great app suggestions
I'll add ProShot as an improvement to stock manual camera; since it allows to set NR OFF and has Jpeg/Dng in Auto / Manual / ISO priority(Program)/ shutter priority(Manual w/ AutoISO) modes.
Also includes DNG browser and only minus: max exposure is 0,7s
