Hey guys,

I want to flash a HD2 with the steps of this Tutorial. Very nice work!

BUT I just finished the first step "Install HSPL" everything goes fine.
But from this step on the HD2 Toolkit and any app in there does no more regocnize the Phone if it is connected via USB..
And from this point on the Phone in Bootloader mode was shown in my Device Manager as HTC USB Sync.. I think this is the problem, but what can I do, I want to go further with the installation.

Thanks for Help

€: Error [266]

hi kabauterman

do you have all the necessary drivers needed so that your PC recognizes the phone? what OS are you using?
Windows 7 64-bit

all drivers are installed, phone is recognized in Bootloader mode as "HTC USB Sync" - in device manager

but the HD2 Toolkit doens't work anymore it tells me that the phone is not connected nevermind what I want to do.

I was only able to run the first step and Installed HSPL 2.08 like shown in OP.

€: OK now I did the steps on another PC and all worked fine :)

thanks for the guide. I don't know what was wrong first time

does the toolkit run in windows xp? Getting an error when I try and run the application.
Yes it does, ran already on a couple of PC using XP, you could have a driver/ software conflict somewhere. Also try to install active sync, ADB & HTC drivers.

BTW what error do you get? it's best the dev of this software knows the solution.

Hi mengfei, thank you for the great tutorial. But I have a question, started off from wm6.5 (clean stock never hacked), I am interested in doing the dual booting instantly, must I have 2 separate sd cards? As you mentioned a 16gig card for wp7 installed in nand, another 4/8 gig card for android installed in it (that sd card of course), is it necessary? Can I install wp7 without a sd card and save that sd card just for android? Since wp7 is installed in nand, why do i need a 16gig card? Plus when I'm tired of a particular android rom, how can I flash another Android rom WITHOUT messing the wp7 in the nand partition? I always flashed from rom to rom using clockwork mod, but this time i see you are installing android in sd without cwm which is something new to me. I saw someone told you in other thread that we can flash cwm from rom manager even we have both wp7 in nand and android in sd, is it safe? Cause from what I know, flashing cwm will lost wp7 in nand. Thank you in advance btw.

hi jeromejeremytay

hopeful answers:

- WP7 can only be installed in NAND & uses the SD Card as an extension of it's storage system which is some sort of a RAID setup.

- You can Dual Boot WP7(nand) + ANdroid(SD) just using 1 card but at least use a 16gig card since both OS will Share the SD card

How to dual Boot using 1 card = http://www.jayceooi.com/2011/02/10/...hone-7-and-android-on-htc-hd2-with-1-sd-card/

- IF you don't want to do the procedure above, this is the time that you use a 2nd SD card which is only for Android SD-ROMS, just copy the files to the root of the SD card & show the path via magldr

- You can have multiple Android on SD & boot to a specific one via MAGLDR, No Flashing needed

- IF you use a ROM that needs to be Flashed it will erase your NAND, so WP7 & Android NAND cannot be together (for now)

Thank you very much mengfei! Appreciate all what you have written down. I think i will just stick to 2 sd cards then
yeah, it's really kinda tricky when you need to format/ partition the single card in such precise order otherwise it wont work, I've experimented with it a few times so I know how frustrating it can be.

for 2 card solution, you just copy the SD-ROM & your ready to go! :cowboy:

Thank you for the tutorial Menfei. i had trouble in downloading the first two thing u ask which is the HD2 NAND toolkit and the radio 2.15.50.14.
I click on both links but failed in downloading it. It seems as if the file was deleted.

your thanks meter should be 9999999999 for this tut !!!!

really helped me.... just followed your tut and im running wp 7.5 :)
thnx a lot..!

I have just some doubts, I hope you can clear it out. I have Tmous for the records.

1. Are there any WP7 roms which are HD2 EU or Tmous specefic ?

Then I thought of trying Deepshining, but in his thread he has specified [S-ROM]. don't know what that means.

Right now I'm on Pdaimatejam, its really good, but its literally drinking my battery. So I wanted to install something else.
Can you guide me a bit? No other roms seem to have a tut.

Also what according to you will be best for battery (both in WP7 and Droid)?

Any better radio for Tmous than 2.12.50.02_2 for battery?

thanks a lot again!

AFAIK deepshining is not for HD2 but rather for HD7 or other models.

You can use any custom rom here in XDA made for the HD2 regular & Tmous models, but the latter has specific needs when it comes to radio, try using Radio 2.15.50.14 as posted in the links.

& No it's not just you, WP7 really does drain the life out of our batteries so much better to have a spare Or those portable chargers.

try another ROM or DL the file again sometimes they get corrupted or it could be that the partition size is not enough because of bad blocks, try adding 5 or 10mb to the devs partition spec.

WM6 & WP7 Nand & Android SD

When install Maglder it wipe everything including WM6. Any possiblity to flashback WM6 using maglder combine with WP7 in NAND, then Android in SD card ???
