my gs3 rings start off low for a few secs then normal after that

When my phone rings, the volume is quiet for the first 2 seconds or so, then it jumps up to full volume. Is this normal? can i disable it?

It's a "feature". This thread has a mod to remove it if you are running UCALEM and this post (at the bottom) has the mod for UCALG1.

If you're running a custom ROM, you should probably ask the developer to apply the mod to the ROM.
