I'm not usually one to start a thread regarding customer service, but after my latest HTC encounter I felt it only fair.

Several months ago I managed to brick my Nexus One while flashing ROMs and themes. I called and was told I could either send it in for repair, or have a refurbished unit sent to me. I chose to have my device fixed since it is in mint condition, except for being bricked. They sent me a prepaid overnight shipping label and they had it for one week. They then shipped it UPS overnight and I had it back working perfect. Now, it was only rooted via one click root with the bootloader still locked and CM6 installed. It came back running the latest version of froyo and I simply re-rooted using one click root.

Me next experience was just this week. I ordered the car dock and it was shipped USPS and took four days to arrive. When I put my Nexus in the dock: nothing. Would not charge, pair, etc..nothing. I called and told them of the issue and they sent me a prepaid UPS overnight shipping label. I shipped it back and within 24 hours received notice that it had arrived at HTC, and a new dock was shipping. This time it was shipped UPS overnight! :) I received the new dock the next day and it is working perfectly.

The best part about HTC, IMO, is that a human answers the phone almost immediately. You have to listen to options for where your call should be directed, but a human always answers after that. It's always a friendly person who I can understand perfectly. I know others have had major issues with HTC customer service so I thought I should post regarding my good experiences just in fairness. I don't doubt others are having very real issues, I just wanted to post my good experiences. The one thing I will say is that I am ALWAYS extra nice so as to make sure the CSR doesn't get mad and bury my order or something.:D

The great build quality of the Nexus One and my customer service experiences is why I desperately want HTC to make any Nexus Two. :)

I've had nothing but great experiences with HTC too. I've had a problem where the last two swaps they sent me weren't able to properly make calls. I usually would be FURIOUS with this turn of events but HTC is so pleasent on the phone I couldn't be mad if I tried :)

Same with me...I was so pissed the damn dock wouldn't work I was ready to punch someone. However, when a rep answered the phone she was so nice I just couldn't be mad anymore. :D

Sorry to hijack the thread a bit, but you said that you didn't unlock the bootloader.

What is HTC like for people who DID unlock the bootloader, and experience an issue that is patently nothing to do with using a custom ROM?

(I can see why HTC might deny a warranty repair if you've burnt out your flash with the high-brightness mode in some apps, but I mean failures that can't be attributed to user stupidity + custom ROM)

I unlocked my bootloader. My trackball started to not scroll down and nothing I tried would work. I called them and they sent me a replacement withhin days but its screen was kinda screwey and dark so I had them send me another replacement and it was two days later I had another one. I sent both defective phones back and never heard anything again. It is my opinion that they don't care about the bootloader if it is obviously hardware related.

My experiences with HTC have also been good! They swifty replaced my nexus with a broken power button.

They even through in a new battery, new battery cover, and new headphones!

Nice people.

Thanks for sharing. IMO, a little too much complaining about HTC was going on lately. I always felt that HTC is an awesome company that makes high quality phones and I'm always glad when they post high profits. Especially when they are sticking it to Apple, who's always been a sneaky villain in my world.

It's funny you mention "high quality phones". My best friend is on USCellular and uses a BB Pearl. I've been bugging him about going Android for months and with the release of the Mesmerize, he decided it was time. Well guess what? He HATES the build quality of the Samsung and was drawn to the HTC Desire(which is almost a twin of the Nexus One except the Desire has a few hard keys). I explained the differences in software but it looks like he is going to go with the Desire based on the build quality! It was really hard to argue with his decision. The Mesmerize felt like a cheap piece of crap. He's not a gadget guy like me so he'll never miss the difference in software, etc... HTC makes some seriously sexy devices.

From what I have read, they have only been talking about undergraduate subsidized loans. As stated above, I haven't seen anything about graduate loans.
... Great all the nation needs is more business and communication degrees out there.
Guess I jumped the gun there :p

after playing around with the galaxy nexus for a while i had to trade it back in for a sensation since the nexus felt like cheap plastic in my hand compared to the sensation i wish google will stop samsung from creating the nexus devices and give it back to HTC :)
