I was able to get it working about as well as it can (not being supported for most new store apps anyway).

Did a stock twrp (no big part) + an older archived cm11 image.

Probably just going to leave it for now.

Thank you Manuellama for keeping something alive for this device.

So I dusted off after a few years and before I left it the zoom (4g CDMA), I put it on big part and 5.1.1 Omnirom. However, it crashes often and video is choppy. What is the best most stable rom to run? Kitkat in the OP? I realize that somethings will not work for new apps but at least a usable device.

Any comments for direction appreciated. It does not seems that anything else is stable right now. even in this thread...

Since your Xoom is not wingray, and 5.1.1 Omnirom is for wingray only, so IMHO it may cause some problem.
I use @Manuellama everest version, its 4.4.4 version, but its good for daily use.

Thank you for responding. @Sancaka, a person can run Wingray roms on Stingray. The cell radio will just not work. I have done it before well. I need something that works. I suppose I will try.

To get your wingray big parted (should work on stingray and everest):

I had to download a BigParted TWRP (the top post's TWRP would not work). I was called "TWRP-2.7.1.0-Wingray-BigPart.img" and I got it here: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=15172 (XDA won't let me post a link =( please someone fix this!)

Once the recovery was flashed, I *believe* all I had to do:
1) Do a factory reset/wipe.
2) RESET (very important)
3) Advance wipe on all the partitions except sdcard.
4) RESET (very important)

Then I could flash cm11 and gapps.

If you run into problems, keep wiping/advance wiping/formatting/reseting until the mounting errors go away. I may have missed a step, but I did succeed in going from "normal-part" to big-parted.

Thanks goes out to this post, it was the first CM11 & gapps where I could get BOTH working. Please update top post as I believe multiple people run into this problem.

I uploaded Omnirom 4.4.4. today and Opengapps 4.4.4. nano. This one seems to work fine, I think.

Thanks for your work Manuel. That's about the best working rom indeed. Would love to see MM on my Xoom, but it seems like the hardware can't keep up any longer. I can't get youtube tv to work on it.

is there an /verest update besides the version of 20170508, the one i am using? i saw only omni updated as of 2018. mine is stable, besides some gaps force close sometimes.

Hi Friends,
I loaded these exact files on two Xooms and I still get crashes in Photos. What other steps can I take? I would love for this to work. Thanks in advance for any advice.
