My new Pixel 5 fails SafetyNet with evalType HARDWARE, is passing impossible?

Just moved from an OG Pixel to a Pixel 5 after battery died, tring to find out what the rooting situation is.

Thanks, tried that but, like others in the thread, still failing CTS

Then, you have to install a Magisk module called "Universal Safetynet Fix".
Google recently changed their safetynet and even though your phone reports "BASIC", it still does a "HARDWARE" check. The module will force it to do the BASIC.
