My Note 7 just got 60% battery limit update, how can I get it back to 100%?

HI,

Those who already have 100% battery back. I would be interested if you can charge the phone up to 100% when it is turned off?
Prior to the latest update I was able to tick the 80% option in the battery settings to charge up to 80% instead of 60%. However, this option had to be ticked every time after a reboot.
Also when the phone is off (which is always at night in my case) it could only be charged up to 60%.

I was just wondering if the custom rom gets rid of the charge restriction completely or if it is also rather a software solution to allow charging during active phone.
Both are fine for me, I can charge during the day. However I'm still interested.
So far Samsung AT is taking their sweet time to contact me back. Maybe I get the phone working again.

Are their already solutions to avoid IMEI blocks as I think NZ already did to stop N7 users from using the phone?

Cheers

proximity sensor

Dual SIM still works like a charm.
Worked for me - thanks again. Phone is up, charging is OK, dual sim works as you have mentioned - like a charm. The only problem which I am facing is the proximity sensor. While making a phone call - the screen does not go off. Do you have the same, or is it only my problem and maybe re-flashing will help? Or maybe just some setting, which I have overseen? :(

appreciate your feedback.
cheers

Any recommendations/leads for rooting if you have a Snapdragon model that's now stuck with the 60% battery limited firmware?

Lol...no.

Jeez guys cmon use some common sense here.

The OP says clearly he has an SM-N930 FD note 7 for starters.

The hydra thread clearly states is for SM- 930D/FD devices.

So obviously no it doesnt work on Canadian snapdragon devices which are N930W8s which you should already know of course

You just need to actually read a bit before asking questions.

Yes.

There are no leads or recommendations. Rooting is not possible... period.

You should not have allowed the update.

No you cannot root a Tmo device on the last 2 updates...only the original firmware was that possible.

Fd unit is a totally different animal they have root, twrp the works.we dont.

I said as much on posts 24 and 26 in this thread..you just didnt bother reading.

Being a rookie is fine but since your a rookie you need to do alot of reading to get caught up and this will also stop you from asking questions which have been asked and answered repeatedly.

The TWRP link clearly states that it can't be used with snapdragon phones, so that eliminates everybody in the U.S.

And Canada.

The problem is people are too lazy to read anything especially all the newbies looking for a quick fix for their note 7s now that the charging is crippled at 60%.

Everyone wants to be spoonfed all the answers without doing any reading or searching to fix their own devices.

Good luck with that.

I tried following the guide using TWRP, but it appears my bootloader is locked. What do I need to do to fix this and roll the update back?

you didnt know your bootloader was locked? how couldnt you know that lol its only been all over the forums and internet since August.

just out of curiosity what model do you have?

anyway.. your going to need to flash the previous firmware in odin and then use a package disabler or ADB to prevent the update from happening again.

and the methods for flashing the firmware and blocking the updates are here in this forum so please use the search function to find what you need .

Its definitely FD.

If I try to flash the bootloader in Odin, it tells me unsupport dev type and crashes. If i try to flash the twrp, it tells me custom OS installation is locked. What do I need to do? I am noob, never done this before. Please help.
