What do you mean? There is the firmware zip flashablle via Odin, just check the link in one of my previous posts. You'll get ARC5 after flashing.
hi,

there should be /be created an update.zip flashable file which can be flashed via stock recovery and upgrade the device to ARC5 without losing the data.
By flashing via ODIN you are losing the data.

Thanks.

No, you are not losing data. You have to use home _csc file instead of the normal csc and you're good to go. I flashed it this way via Odin and my data is exactly where it was before.

Second note, there's no TWRP or custom recovery available for S9/S9+ at this point as I know, so a flashable zip will be of no good right now.

hi,

thanks for the tip with home_csc instead of normal_csc.
stock recovery is the Samsung in build recovery. i am not speaking about TWRP or any other custom recovery.

Thanks and keep in touch.

Hi

I am a bit confused as I've always been a iPhone person (since the 4) but I've decided to give android a whirl as I'm sick of Apple taking the Michael with cost the iPhone x is what broke my friendship with them

Anyway I bought my s9 plus from John Lewis and what I've read it should be a XEU but I think I have BTU which is the direct unlocked samsung version for the UK

Firstly can anyone tell me what branding my handset is and secondly if it is BTU I haven't had the firmware update

To be honest battery is draining faster than i thought I've had the phone unplugged from power since 7am this morning and I am on 63% with light usage how do I see what's using my battery some of you show screen on time etc where is that setting

Check manually in settings if there is a Firmware Update. Should be. The new Firmware fixed some bugs and battery drain. For me it's better.
ARC5 should be the new one.

Ye definately BTU. Which is weird as usually only BTU when direct from Samsung.

Don't worry about battery just yet. Can take a week or 2 for the phone to learn your usage patterns and then optimise it based on that.

No update for me.
Unbranded standard version of the phone. XEU not BTU though.

I have a S9+, from Samsung UK. No update here yet.
I have read a few different posts here stating that staff from EE and CFW have advised that the UK update will be going out on Friday

Somebody else in this thread from the UK got the update though.

Why would CPW control the update to an unlocked phone?
I just thought with staff at a couple of different phone shops saying it's coming Friday that it might be a blanket update for all carriers/unlocked. Mine came SIM free and I haven't had it yet.
