Hello,

I have read through this thread. I have a few questions. I mistakenly bought the HK N9600, but I'm on T-Mobile. I know I can flash detonator, trip knox, lose samsung pay, but have a working T-Mobile variant. How do I get future updates? Do I have to flash each time or will I be able to get OTA? How can I get Pie on my current version as well?

Thanks!
WETA has a rom for the snapdragon based Note 9 (the one you own). He also has a downloadable CSC (XAA) file to enable use on T-Mobile. You can also flash the TEK CSC for OREO, if you need additional CSC options.

TEK's full rom will NOT work on your device.

Future updates, wait for WETA to release or just use ODIN and the files from sammobile.

I flashed the rom, let it boot to set up. Then because I need dual sim functionality during start up, I attempted to reboot into recovery. Now I have a red message at the top of the screen in very small letters "Only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed"

I can not boot into the rom or recovery.

Help please.

Edit = Am able to access download mode. Gotta flash stock with ODin.

Can anyone confirm that if I have a SM-N9600 on VERIZON that I will be able to achieve full root with this on Verizon while still retaining everything possible to fully utilize the phone on Verizon?

Or, will this still lack the ability to actually call with the device (besides through WIFI) on Verizon?

From what's shown on the website it looks like gold! Does this mean I can flash this on my SM-N9600 and it will work on Verizon just like a factory Verizon phone?

Does dual SIM plus microsd work with TEKXnesis N9 ROM?
TekHD Has provided a dual SIM + microsd fix zip in his Telegram channel.
Not only that but if you don't have telegram it's on his website for direct download of the fix
http://tekhd.com/n9s9/#tekx-mods

TEKXnesis Advanced N9 vTHDx3 MODS for N9 & S9+

DualSim + SDCard Mod:

TEKXnesis_Advanced_N9_vTHDx3_DualSim_plus_SDCard_Mod_TEKHD.zip

NOTE: You must boot ROM at least one time before flashing any MOD.

HOW-TO FLASH TEKXnesis Advanced N9 MODS:
1. Make sure you are running TEKXnesis Advanced N9 vTHDx2 (for N9 or S9+)
2. Backup all partitions via TWRP.
3. Flash via TWRP.
4. Reboot… Done!

UPDATE 06-2019:

No one replied or answered this, but I confirmed that N9600 works on Verizon with Detonator. Everything works normal, except WIFI calling isn't working but I am going to try a different stock firmware to see if that helps.

csc and root are 2 different things.

you'll need to head over to the twrp recovery thread on the snapdragon section in order to get things going... then youll be able to flash the csc detonator pack.

You will have to choose one CSC (the one that you use the most) Just to let you know... out of all carriers in the US, T-Mobile is the most advanced/feature rich... so... at least the TMO CSC will activate more services than any other CSC. At least VoLTE and some other features should work with AT&T too. Hope this helps, good luck!
@TEKHD Which version has the most functionality on the AT&T network - the T-Mobile CSC, which you said has the most features, or the AT&T CSC? Do you have a list of the differences between the 2 versions?

Also, can you explain what your dual SIM mod does? I didn't see any info about it...

thanks!

Thanks!

Just a quick note to say "thanks" to @TEKHD for the great Detonator pack! Glad to have all my TMO features available again!

Was very happy to send a donation!

Thanks for your great work.

Not sure what AT&T offers as I dropped them years ago for TMO. I have WiFi calling, RTT (real-time text), VoLTE, HDR calls, Spam/Fraud alerts. Probably more stuff that I just don't use.

Dual SIM allows you to use two separate SIMs so your device has two different "phones". You can also purchase a small dongle that will allow you run two SIMs and a MicroSD.

The sm-n960f already supports 2 SIM cards, so I'm still not sure what the fix does... Or is it needed because when you flash a different ROM, the dual SIM functionality no longer works?

The Dual SIM fix is used to allow you to use the cable adding an SD card to the device and curing the "micro-lag" that would result from doing so.

I personally don't run this set-up on my Note9 but, I'm trying to convince my wife to use my old N8 to consolidate her business phone and work phone, so I've been studying up.

When I flash the Pie Detonator on Dr. Ketan's Pie ROM the sim card gets service for a few seconds then it says no service for a few seconds and the phone app crashes then service comes back again for a few seconds. This goes on a non stop loop.
Anyone know why this happens and/or how to fix it?

Open question for anyone.

After I flash the detonator, do I need to reset the csc to stock before flashing another ROM?
You need to follow the uninstall instructions in the Uninstall Detonator section before you wipe and flash another ROM.
