I am sorry if I am misunderstanding but if I'm on nc2 and flashed only the modem nc4 from Droid forums that means I can't roll back to mje?i haven't tried it and I haven't had issued just curious I'm happy where I am as I'm rooted still on nc2 with my mobile Hotspot and unlimited data so I couldn't be happier u just want to know if I'm going to have the option to roll back to me modem if I wanted to

I think I was reading this as the firmware not the radio sorry ignore my question long day at work and my brain is jello

You can still roll back. Flashing modems don't count, it's the firmware and as long as your on nc2 your good to go.

What would be the benefit of having the NC2 firmware over the NC4? I can understand the NC2 bootloader, but is there a difference with the firmware?
The bootloader is a part of the firmware. The NC2 bootloader has unique things such as the ability to roll back to MJE and insecure modules open the possibility to use "kexec" to skip the bootloader and directly load a custom kernel. For more info, check this PSA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2727876.

No, the modem has nothing to do with the bootloader (they're in separate img files). NC4 modem and NC2 bootloader can be flashed together, and you can roll back to MJE whenever you want.

Thanks again Bro life saver..

The linked file includes NC2 Firmware/Bootloader for Retail Verizon Note 3 (N900V) equivalent to the file required for step 6 in N900VVRUCNC2 thread together with NC4 modem and recovery. It fixes the boot loop issue when entering (rebooting to) recovery on NC2 and upgrades the modem and recovery to NC4. Sure, by flashing this file in Odin, you can still roll back to Jelly Bean MJE with all the benefits of the leaked NC2 bootloader.

Instructions:
If you're upgrading from JB MJE: follow the upgrade instructions and, in step 6, use this file instead of the NC2 firmware file.
If your're already on KK NC2: extract this file and flash via Odin3.

DO NOT FLASH THIS FILE ON THE DEVELOPER EDITION (N900V DE)! IT WILL LOCK YOUR DEVICE.

I flashed Beans NC2 leak and used the file in the OP of this thread in Step 6 of his flashing process.

I can still downgrade back to MJE if I want right?

Edit: Just read OP again... So I now have NC2 bootloader and NC4 modem/recovery by using the OP file in my flashing process.

So just to be sure. If I am already on Beans' NC2 leak I just flash this and it will flash o my the modem and recovery files? Or will it flash the NC2 firmware all over again. Don't really want to have to reinstall everything again lol thanks in advance

No, the NC2 firmware is included in this file :) You may also consider upgrading to NC4 ROM together with the leaked NC2 benefits here.

That's weird because I flashed successfully with Odin 3.08 and this is what I'm getting still. Is it the Odin version I'm using?

That's where I'm confused, shouldn't the baseband be different? I'm downloading the Jasmine base(might add well try it).. And am embedding if that will change it? Our is it just the kernel to be worried about? As ours are both the same..

It should. That's the radio included with the install package. Strange that it would change one but not both...

Well,I may be completely confused in what I'm seeing? Should the baseband be changed after flashing? Or is that(baseband) the actual firmware such as nc2 or nc4.. I'm still not 100 on what should be changed our showing changed..

I wish we had slots, but lol, oh well,I can do backup. I like how it's running, but just feeling a flashaholic moment I guess..

It should definitely say NC4...probably stupid question, but did you unzip and only flash .tar file or did you flash the zip? I'm not even sure if it would let you complete if just flashing the zip, just asking.

Yes, unzipped and flashed the tar. It was actually the only file showing up after the resulting unzip.. And no problem.. even after installing the nc4 base rom, it still showed the same nc2..

It's very weird..

This file includes NC2 firmware/boatloader + NC4 modem + NC4 recovery
JasmineROM upgrades the ROM/build to NC4.
