@az_biker: Thanks so much for your time. Your information is clear and helpful. I realize this might be reading between the lines, but I'll give it a go...since I have taken the NC4 OTA, I can save myself a lot of time and headache by reading only about ROMs and rooting related to native NC4. I say that based on your thread about "How to root 4.3 and NC4 OTA..." where we NC4'ers are directed to the bottom of the OP. And there, following those instructions, you mention Baja v15 final. Would those instructions work for Baja v16.1 July 4th ed, as well? Thanks again for your time and help.

Scott :fingers-crossed:
Yep! Baja 16.1 4th of July is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the idea: I changed the link to Baja's latest Rom :D

i read every post in this thread and am pretty confused about the firmware.
i have sm-n900v on stock NC4
i have rooted with towelroot and also used supersu 2.46.apk and triangle away.
i factory data reset, ##786# and also from stock recovery wipe data and cache
i then went and used odin to flash stock NC4 again and also did all wipes listed above in this post.
im back to official and am ready to continue some guides
i want to be able to flash safestrap 3.75 but to my understanding i need to have nc2 permissive kernel
since i have nc4 everything as im stock and not rooted (official status) what exactly do i need to flash safestrap 3.75?
i have never used safestrap before but i have been a LONG time user of twrp.
thanks for any info
btw i think im going to install "JasmineROM v6.1 (N900VVRUEOF1) Release [Sep 11, 2015]"

i did also have multisystem 1.3.1 installed and made the partitioned sd card and even made a backup image of my stock os.
i didnt like it and all the tutorials show safestrap.
even in the multisystem tutorials they never really show how to use a virtual image (custom image that is)
anyhow i have decided i want to stick with 4.4.2 NC4 but with the nc2 unsecure kernel (to my understanding)

i know this is old thread but from my searching it looks the most complete but when i unzip the zip and look inside "N900VVRUCNC4.tar.md5" that has the nc2 firmware in this thread i think it has way to much stuff in there if im already on stock nc2.
does that firmware contain the nc2 unsecure kernel?
thanks
