Flashed from U1 to U VZW. Not sure what I did. No updates showing for me either. Had to manually download the new update and flash all over. Still have no VZW boot logo. Can anybody confirm if it's included with Verizon ones.? Also I'm a bit confused by the XAA. Shouldn't it say VZW. My goal is to have it up and running with OTA. My only "bloat" apps are messages, call filter and security & privacy. Is this correct?

Hi everyone,

I have an unlocked S9 that automatically switches to the carrier which sim you put in it, with the boot logo and apps. For example when I put a Tmobile sim in it, it asks to restart the phone and while restarting, it displays the Tmobile bootlogo and upon restart you can see "My Tmobile" in the apps. I was wondering if there's way to do that through ODIN by flashing a U1 firmware somehow, with the new Galaxy phones.

On the side note, that S9 is my 1st unlocked samsung phone, and I'm sure other unlocked samsung phones do it, too. I just find it cool, since that was my first time seeing it.

If you don't have the boot logo, then you didn't do it correctly.

Is there a way to do what, exactly?

You can't make them do it. Either they'll do it automatically, or they won't.
So theoretically, IF I'd flash a Tmobile firmware on my Note 10+ that's already "Unlocked by Samsung" , and then later on decide to go back to stock by flashing a U1 Firmware, will the Note lose its capability of Displaying the carrier logo of the inserted sim by itself?

Nope. Flashing can't change any inherent capabilities of the firmware. You can't break wifi or Bluetooth or anything else, just by flashing - and that feature is no exception. However, I don't know if that feature is already present and working in U firmware

Thanks a lot for the enlightenment.

Like a dummy I missed the first step. When my phone arrived I went straight to flashing. Never inserted my sim card and applied carrier settings. I flashed back to u1 software and started fresh. Flash back to U and everything works. Was able to get ota as soon as phone restarted. Thanks alot.

You're not the only dummy. I just spend the last two days trying to figure out if/why I didn't have the TMB firmware.

Please help!

I wanted to get WiFi calling on an Unlocked Device so here is what I did and it worked immediately, as soon as I booted up my phone.

I installed the latest TMB software that I downloaded using FRIJA -
Installed ATT USERDATA File (installed this at the same time I was installing the files from the TMB software. So there were five files in ODIN (using the latest Patched B Odin)

The phone rebooted into stock recovery - I assumed it needed me to do a factory reset - so I did -
Booted phone up - went thru setup and added my Google Accounts and stuff - installed all my aps and when I looked in the Notification Drop Down - I saw Wi Fi Calling Tile - I clicked and it turned on and went thru the initial setup where you put in your address.

It was really easy - and I honestly don't believe it will go away unless I install U1 firmware.

I thouight I woiuld share because I have seen so many posts about whether to leave SIM In or take it out...I didn't do anything - left my SIM in place and simply flashed the U firmware and ATT Userdata while my ATT SIM was in place. On reboot, I had WIFi calling installed and working.

Hope this is helpful
Hello, can you post the link where you downloaded the U and Userdata?

I downloaded UserData from this thread - go to the Op - click on the link for U Firmware - that will take youhttps://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s9/how-to/tool-frija-samsung-firmware-downloader-t3910584 to the download site, click on SGO folder and you will see ATT User Data.

For the latest Firmware, I download using Frija software - I downloaded that from here - and then used FRIJA to download firmware for SM-N975U and put TMB in the CSC field -that gave the latest download for the firmware for TMobile which is essentially the same as ATT.

Good Luck

Thank you so much. I can't seem to find the SGO folder with UserData. I'm very new at this. Can you help once again?

Yep that's what most users in my S10 threads have experienced. AT&T takes a while to perform the IMEI check/swap in their systems for some reason
Everyone has those Odin files lol. They hit SamFirm yesterday
I have SamFirm Ver. 0.4.0 and I do not see USA (ATT) even in the dropdown list. How is anyone getting the latest firmware from them? Similar issue with Frija.

I am kind of interested to see if I ever get an OTA from AT$T but would still like to know how to get the firmware through either of those tools.

I tried to download the AT$T firmware from SamMobile. It took over 4 hours but when unzipping got a corrupted file error message and eventually, only the AP and BL files were present. Think I'll still try to unzip using 7zip on a Win machine as I used my Mac to unzip. Thanks in advance for your help!

On Samfirm the region should be USC
Device SM-975U

USC = ATT firmware? I do not see any listing in the dropdown menu like that. See screenshot.

I lucked out and successfully opened the SamMobile ATT firmware with 7zip and all 4 files were in there, so I'm good to go now but definitely appreciate the info.

Update: Successfully updated my phone and it shows ATT/ATT/XAA BUT I didn't use the old ATT Userdata file and lost my ATT Wifi Calling, VoLTE, Visual Voicemail. I still have a lot of ATT bloatware though.
Can I Flash the old ATT ASGO Userdata file with the new ATT "ASH4" Firmware?

You obviously haven't read the OP

No, USC is not AT&T. USC is US Cellular.
