Hi, I just got my device and it is N975U (US Cellular unlocked). I'm interested with the Star Wars firmware and using the device in the UK. Is this the latest and greatest would you recommend? Thanks in advance.

As long as you enter in all the details correct, SamFirm and Frija will automatically pull the newest version for you, if there's a newer one than what you typed in

Thank you. I have never used frija or samfirm. Last time I used Odin was in S6 Edge days and by referring to Xda threads or Sammobile to check.

So as long as I search N975U1 and XAA in frija for example, I will be fine with unlock + Star Wars firmware? Apologies if this question is too basic for you ?

No because doing that and choosing Auto will not give you the Star Wars firmware. If you want Star Wars, you need to manually enter in all the fields, as you typed them in your previous post - and choose Manual instead of Auto. I was simply saying that if there has been a newer version released than what you are typing in, the program will give you that version instead. But it will still be the Star Wars version

Cheers for the explanation. I am downloading the latest version of the details as my previous post via frija now. As for the Odin, will v3.14.4 downloaded from sammobile site works fine? Or do I need to download patched version, if so can you please kindly redirect me to the correct one? Thanks again for your guidance and help.

Quick question, since I am using UK sim but US (snapdragon USC unlocked) phone, what is the best practice when flashing firmware (N975U1 XAA star wars) regarding the sim card? Do I take out the sim, flash, then put the sim after boot? Why I am asking is, my internet (4G/LTE) seems super slow (2mbps speedtest). I tried taking out the sim and use it in my old phone, the internet speed seems good (50mpbs). Any suggestions/ideas would be massively appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It makes no difference when you insert the SIM. The internet is probably slow because an American phone is not going to support all of the LTE bands that are used in the UK

Ok make sense as there are some bands differences between UK & US. Does the firmware Star Wars N975U1 vs N975U USC affects the bands 'activated' since the device is unlocked? I wouldn't have thought so but worth to ask. Sorry if this is off topic.

U firmware is carrier firmware, so it will be optimized for the bands of the carrier whose firmware is installed. USC means "US Cellular" so if that's what you installed, that means the bands are currently optimized for use on US Cellular.

So it is possible that flashing U1 (non carrier firmware) will open more bands, but only if the phone's hardware supports them
