U firmware is carrier firmware, so it will be optimized for the bands of the carrier whose firmware is installed. USC means "US Cellular" so if that's what you installed, that means the bands are currently optimized for use on US Cellular.

So it is possible that flashing U1 (non carrier firmware) will open more bands, but only if the phone's hardware supports them
Ok good to know that. Since I am using it outside US, my wish is to use firmware that open up all the bands available as per the Hardware to utilize our available network bands. Thanks again for your time and help

What's so great about the One Ui 2.5?? I got it but still use Nova Launcher as it just seems faster and smoother. I'm just wondering when a fix for the choppy video will be available. Ever since I went from 9 - 10 the video has been choppy in some games and while scrolling.

Probably the wireless Dex and the Pro Video mode?
Some new S Pen features too like, handwriting straightening.

Frija works perfectly fine. If you're getting "no luck", you need to provide detail on exactly what is not working, so that we can tell you how to fix it

Hi IbowtoAndroid,

I have been putting in the Model # and getting a reply that there is no update available, I obviously doing something incorrectly,
but not sure what it might be
I have used Odin in the past and command line prompts etc, this will not work for this phone as we all know (unless I am missing something)

So if you have any pearls of wisdom to impart I would be eager to hear them,
not sure if I need exact file names I am sure you would know

Sorry if I am not more specific, but I am still learning about this specific model phone and it's requirements,
Definitely not like the other Samsung's I have owned where I was able to unlock the boot loader and root my device

Blessings

All you need to do is type SM-N975U1 for the Model, XAA for the CSC, ensure the "Auto" box is checked, and click "Check Update"

Awesome THANK YOU :) did exactly that and it worked like a charm, now will this work for version SM-N975U model? I know you mentioned they were interchangeable, just making sure

for the september security patch would that come with this download or do I need to do that separately

Thank you again so much I will post and let you know if it worked

Frija will automatically give you whatever the newest/latest version is. I have no idea if that will come with September patch or not

I am getting an error message Odin fail SHA256 is invalid
tried different ports, and reinstalled the drivers just in case, not sure what this message means

Are you flashing the correct firmware? Are flashing firmware with same bootloader that you are currently on or trying downgrade?...you can't downgrade firmware...post build number you are on and the build number you are trying to flash

Does anyone have the files for unlocked version N975U with 2.5 UI ?

I already updated to this firmware, but verizon still removed some Samsung options like "call & text from other devices" and i really need that option as I work with a Samsung Tablet.

As far as I know I can flash unlocked 975U firmware over the verizon firmware right? Because they're the same model number right?
