Hi, I'm looking to buy a T-Mobile version to use on Verizon. So from this it sounds it will need to be sim unlocked by t-mobile if I want to use it? I cant just flash the unlocked firmware and use it on Verizon? Is there an easy way to check this before I buy? Thanks.

1. Every phone needs to be SIM unlocked from its original carrier, in order to be used on a different one

2. No, simply flashing U1 firmware won't magically SIM unlock the device or make it work on Verizon, if it's still locked to T-Mobile

3. No, you can't really check it ahead of time. Until you get the device in hand, you just have to go by (and trust) whatever information the seller gives you - and sellers lie all the time. So make sure that the site offers buyer protection or a return policy

Yeah it was on offerup so I will just wait until I find a better price on a verizon one then. Thanks for the information.

1. The Verizon Note 10+ also comes SIM locked by default. Verizon's unlocking policy is more generous and lenient than T-Mobile's, so there's a better chance of a Verizon model already being unlocked. But they don't come that way by default. So unless the seller specifically advertises it as being unlocked, I would assume that it is still locked to Verizon. And the usual caveats about seller honesty and transparency apply also.

2. Just so you're aware, it would run in the $75 ballpark to have the SIM unlock done by a professional 3rd party business (I can provide a recommendation if needed). So if the Verizon one costs $80 (or more) more than the T-Mobile one, then it would be better financially to get the T-Mobile one

Even if you flash it to Xfinity or Verizon firmware, the device should automatically convert to Sprint firmware if you insert a Sprint SIM. (You will need to have an Xfinity or Verizon SIM in order to successfully apply their bloatware, if you flash their firmware)

You can't apply Sprint bloatware if you don't have a Sprint USERDATA file for bootloader 5. But since you have Verizon USERDATA for bootloader 5, you can follow the steps given in the OP for converting from U1 firmware to Verizon U firmware, and then phone should switch to Sprint firmware when you replace the Verizon SIM with the Sprint SIM

I just wanted to say thanks a million @Venom0642 . I've spent way too much time trying to find a valid AT&T firmware download & talking to AT&T to help. I really appreciate it, i'm finally able to be able to access work resources due to the security patch level!!
