Hi people! I was searching some thread which talk about naptime and I found this one.

I am facing a problem with background backups (photos and flickr) and I want to know some alternatives. I think naptime is closing my background backups from photos and flickr apps. I already whitelisted flickr but it are being closed yet. I think it is due naptime aggressive doze.

Anyone facing same problems?

I use franco kernel default + naptime.

Thanks

I don't use naptime but I've found that long-running Titanium Backup jobs get killed even though I've set it not to be optimised. I'm running stock OOS 5.0.1.
So it may just be the OS doing this rather than naptime.

I've not found a solution to the problem.

Thanks.

I understood. So if we need to do some long-running application we need to stay with the screen on until it finishes?

That's a good approach.
I am using naptime and never had issues with short backups for Google photos, WhatsApp backup etc

I think it's related to your kernel. I got issues with AFWall+ and Francokernel.

My experience with Oreo has been quite thorough. Greenify paid = no good for Oreo excessive drains trying to fight system doze. Power nap don't know never used. And Naptime = no soup, creates to many alarms and wakelocks itself even with aggressive doze off and custom settings. Google and HTC have done better on Oreo. Just my opinion and experience. No help needed to put apps to sleep.

Edit. Naptime and out of box setting makes a big difference in Oreo. I was tinkering with custom settings and that is no good.

I don't know if it's improved in Pie, but Oreo hasn't exactly been stellar with app management. Apps are frequently booted out of Recents for no apparent reason, despite their being in memory still. I only ever have three items in Recents and one will always disappear. I wonder how many people have mistaken that behaviour for bad RAM management, as surely there are two different issues at play.

Did anyone know a good app like naptime but with possibility to make exceptions? with naptime i need one necessary thing and thats my alarm clock.
Don't know if you need to know this still, but in Pie you can disable battery optimization for any app, and then it will not be put into doze mode, by naptime or any other way.

How to get to that is slightly obscure: Settings/Apps & Notifications/Select any app (doesn't necessarily need to be the one you want to change).

Then within that app page: Advanced/Battery/Battery Optimization

Click on the selector to select "All Apps" instead of "Not Optimized"

Then find your app & turn off Battery Optimization for it.

In Oreo & other version I believe this option is there also, but in an equally obscure but different place in the Settings app.
