did you follow the devs recommended partition size on NAND?
please give more details
okay so i did a little digging up, and the chef had given the partition size of 170mb and 5mb cache size, so that means(referring to your other tutorial) id first have to "wipe task29" and then reinstall magldr and partition it with the above mentioned numbers ? and then install it via the aroma installer on nand ? Is that the right way ? if it is, how do i partition it on magldr to 170mb ? cause theres 150mb 100mb and 200mb =/ no clk =(

not necessary
and then reinstall magldr
not necessary (unless you dont have '8 - ad recovery' in your current magldr menu)

correct. you can either use the nand toolkit, and on the list of sizes choose custom, then when it asks type 170, ,
or you could use the 180, since that will allow extra space to allow for any bad blocks, or you can look for the file flash.cfg (not flash.cfg.txt, , make sure your windows settings are showing file extensions,,,, if you see 'flash' and 'flash.cfg', , then that is actually flash.cfg and flash.cfg.txt), , open flash.cfg in notepad, look for the system line, and change the value accordingly.

HELP!

Plzz can anyone help me .. whenever i press AD boot Dir it gets me back to the main boot screen on MAGLDR .. what am i missing ... thanks in advance

---------- Post added at 03:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:34 PM ----------

Was you doing like this?

SD card root\ 4EXTRecovery Folder

Magldr > Service > Boot Setting > AD SD Dear > 4EXTRecovery (folder must be in SD root) (reboot)

Magldr > Boot AD SD

If still have problem, format SD Card & copy the 4EXTRecovery & try again or try another card, there are some that had problems with theirs SD's
I have the same problem and am not sure what exactly should i do .. i did put the 4EXTRecovery in the root SD folder .. but still when i choose AD SD Dir it gets me back to the MAGLDR home screen and nothing happens :(

I have wp7 installed and already changed my sd card so that the initial 200mb is now 8gb and everything is working fine. Is it possible to now install this rom and dual boot?

Maybe an updated tutorial including photos from the (most recommended up to date) "4EXT2.2.7_leo_sd" recovery should be very helpful for some people (like me) that are seeing these recovery screens for the first time. The 4EXT has some different menus and functions. I would do it myself but I am still trying to find a workaround to install Android on my SD.

OK, i managed to install Android on my SD. The problem was that I had to extract the second folder in the zip file of "4EXT2.2.7_leo_sd".
When you open it you find inside a folder named "recovery_4EXT2.2.7_leo_sd" (just as the zip file" and this folder has a subfolder named "4EXTRecovery". What I was doing was copying the folder with the subfolder. What you need to do is extract the subfolder to the root of your SD card.
Stupid but it took me a while until I figured it out.
With the recovery installed I managed to get my SD Android build up and working using the tutorial. Neet!

System partition when installing to native SD

Why does the system partition matter when you are installing to native SD?

I see:

The required system partition size is as follows:

Full install: 265 MB
Minimum Install (i.e. custom install with everything unchecked): 245 MB
When installing this ROM to NAND, please use the following partition table size: show
So why do we need to follow the table if we are not installing to NAND? Does it make a difference how big you make it in this case?

back to magldr instead of recovery...

Guys I checked the link you mentioned earlier, and in the SD section I found 3 recoveries:
1. recovery_cwmtouch_beta8_leo_sd.zip
2. recovery_cwr_5.5.0.4_leo.zip
3. recovery_twrp2.2.2.0_leo_sd.zip

I can't find this 4EXT recovery that u talk about!! Would you kindly check it again and give me a link?

cuz I'm trying each of those three recoveries, and what happens is after I choose "BOOT AD SD" and the "123456" and "GO! GO! GO" are shown, phone reboots to MAGLDR MAIN MENU!!!

On a side note, unfortunately as of the time of this post,
all links to the pictures in the first post are broken.

Part of the instructions ask you to match your settings as in the pictures.

right click on the drive again & choose "Create New Partition" & change the dropdown boxes as the options below.
Just thought i should mention this, unless this thread is abandoned (although there are too many threads linking to this thread as a how to for Native SD instructions)
