No because I hate how it works when my keyboard is up and I drive a lot so if I do use the phone from the mount I try to minimize key presses so I keep the nav bar.You don't use auto hide?
Sometimes it's just like temporary, hide your status bar and leave open a white screen for a while or lock your screen for a while and go back to the grey, chances are the nav bar burn was temporaryBummed because I checked out the grey screen and definitely have some burn in on the nav bar
I will check it out and give feedbackI heard there is one app by someone called Zachary , it can hide the status bar without root using ADB command. But I haven't yet looked into it. I think it's called status ui tuner.
I'm not expecting it on t Mobile USA until perhaps the Note 9 is released.Sometimes it's just like temporary, hide your status bar and leave open a white screen for a while or lock your screen for a while and go back to the grey, chances are the nav bar burn was temporary

Completely off topic but anyone got Oreo yet? Or have a rough ETA? It's now 1st of Feb here in UK and still no Oreo I'm so impatient, only want it so I can have recent apps as a list instead of thumbnails
LOL no doubt. Can't be let down if you aren't expecting it. I saw on TMO site that it is in step 1. Waiting on manufacturer. I bet March or early April. Not holding my breath though...I'm not expecting it on t Mobile USA until perhaps the Note 9 is released.
I'm the guy who checks for updates every night ?I'm so impatient, literally the only reason I haven't rooted or flashed yetLOL no doubt. Can't be let down if you aren't expecting it. So I found my solution to not liking auto hide. You don't use auto hide?
That actually sounds impressive ergonomics wise.So I found my solution to not liking auto hide.
I paid for the pro version of BxActions and never thought about it until I saw a Reddit post on the topic where the op mapped back to a single press of the bixby button, recents to a double press and home to a long press. I'm digging this setup quite a bit. Almost makes me wish I could turn off the nav bar completely.
hm.. thats cover by warranty? I have local samsung service center not far from my house. my might pass by and ask.. i got the phone when it came out in September 07. maybe I should wait a big longer to request one if its possible.. lolI think I see it now. It's that line going down the width of the screen?
Maybe do a warranty on it. But it might also be the screen saver.

Wow oh why isn't there an invisible with or amoled black navbar available stock rom beats me.I also have this problem... It happened with my note 4 (4 years old now).
I got my note 8 last October 2017. My brightness is always low since I'm a bit photophobic. There wasn't a burn a month ago. Now I'm seeing that same line and it's distracting once you have an all white screen.
If my note 4 is any indication, soon the burn will affect graphics in games and movies.

The bottom navigation is noticeably darker than the screen.Wow oh why isn't there an invisible with or amoled black navbar available stock rom beats me.
When I was on Nougat, I used Wings Substratum to make the navbar be all black. Sure miss that.

Try what I did, I used SystemUI Tuner to enable immersive mode and bxActions to give nav bar fucntions to my Bixby button. Remapping the button feels a little odd for a few weeks but I reset my device and found myself tapping the Bixby button thinking it would take me back or home. The bottom navigation is noticeably darker than the screen.
The notification area is lighter then the screen.
It's not that noticeable for now if you play games or movies.
But on my note 4 screen it's there. Since the nav bar is physical, the burn is only on the notification bar. It's lighter than the rest of the screen. And I play a certain game a lot, I've noticed that the game buttons have been burned on the screen. But that took like 4 years to happen.
2 years into owning note 4 and using that floating home button, it's burned on the screen too.
Like I said, I don't have my brightness at max. I'm always on auto with the slider usually at half because of my photophobia.
I'm just sad to see this on my note 8 barely 3 months after getting it.
