Lockport
unroot airwatch

Hello, I am tempted to do this so I can remove some bloat, however, I need air watch installed which detects root, check in is once every 14 days for compliance. Worst case, can restore to stock?
However, I would just like to be able to uninstall stuff and then unroot and reinstall air watch. Is unrooting possible?
Do I need to install Safestrap if I have no intention to load custom roms?
Our company is BYOD, however Airwatch is required to allow remote wipe/enforce long passwords/activesync parameters. Only requirement for BYOD is non rooted or jailbroken phones.

Someone with experience might be able to answer this question. I don't intend to flash any custom ROMs. The only reason that I would install Safestrap is because that is the only way that I know of making a Nandroid for a locked bootloader. My Apps and Data are about 7 GB, so it would be pointless for me to use one of the virtual slots of 6GB maximum. I intend to use my Stock ROM slot, i.e. boot up into my stock ROM. My question is this: If I don't create any virtual slots with Safestrap and boot into my stock ROM as I would normally do, would my new internal storage space be greatly diminished in size? I like having a lot of storage for future expansion possibilities. If so, maybe a nandroid would not be feasible for me.

After installing ROM into second slut it will not boot.

I followed this procedure and rooted my SM-N900V with CN4, installed busybox, installed SafeStrap, Installed SS Recovery, re-booted into recovery, created a slut, installed the Hyperdrive ROM onto the created slut and rebooted the system. The problem is the reboot goes into a black screen and never comes out. Has anyone been able to fix this issue?
Also at firest I installed the SS ver 3.75. in that version the system size is stuck at 2612 and cannot be changed. In version 3.72 the system size can be changed but the result is the same (Black screen after installing ROM)

Thank you
Sam

Hope I'm interpreting your question correctly, but no, if you don't create any slots your memory is not affected solely because you installed SS.

Think this thread might help... If you're on the OTA NC4, then you'll need to follow the directions for "retail". Instead of the stock ROM mentioned, you'll be using Hyperdrive ROM.

Please help, I'm so stuck.

I just rooted my Note 3 using Towelroot method and it didn't trip the Knox counter

1. Just install Towelroot.apk from http://towelroot.com/

2. Open Towerroot to root than reboot

3. install Root checker from the Play store to check root

4. install Supersu from http://download.chainfire.eu/447/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99r4.zip - Unzip and install APK, open and let it uninstall Knox and Reboot.

For more details refer to - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2783157

Installing Safestrap:

After Rooting and Supersu is installed follow below steps to install safestrap:

1. Install Busybox app from Play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=stericson.busybox&hl=en

2. Install Safestrap from herehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2517610 and follow instructions in the thread
These exact steps are already posted...

And you can install any ROM with Safestrap
Hello, I'm sorry for the bother but I have searched everywhere for months since towelroot came out and I haven't been able to find an answer anywhere. So, I have rooted my Verizon Note 3 SM-N900V NC4 with towelroot, installed busybox and safestrap. It will boot into safestrap just fine but when I try to install any custom rom like jellybeans or hyperdrive, it says "E: Unable to mount '/system'. It will eventually say that it was successful but when I go to reboot to says "no OS installed, are you sure you want to reboot?" Even when I try to wipe before installing, it wont wipe because it's unable to mount system. So I clicked on the "mount" box in safestrap and it will not mount system when in any rom slot. Although it will mount when I am in the stock rom slot. I did try and install jellybeans in the stock rom slot and it soft bricked my phone. I ended up having to Odin back to NC4. Also, sometimes when I reboot and to goes to the safestrap screen, it says "safestrap: Disabled" but sometimes it doesn't say disabled and it seems to be working just fine. I've tried installing a rom both ways, enabled and disabled, and in both cases, the same thing happens, Unable to mount to system. I would really appreciate any help that anyone could give me. Like I said, I've looked everywhere and tried everything that I could think of and everything that I could find that is out there but there has yet to be a solution that works for me. I could really use some help from someone smarter than me. Thank you to anyone who responds!

Thanks again,

Chris Hencz

I just picked up a used Note 3, and it's on MJE

from what I'm seeing, there's no benefit to staying on MJE, and I should try to update to NC2.

Am I right? Is there any benefit to staying on MJE? I haven't activated it yet, but once I do, will it allow me to OTA to NC2 before offering me OTA to NC4? or do I need to find a way to Odin to NC2 from MJE?

advice would be appreciated :)

edit: sorry, forgot to mention that I intend to root/safestrap/custom roms, etc...
