Nc5 Hotspot yet?

Guys you need to read the forum, all the questions are already answered you just need to search and look not just ask.

Step by Step:

Get your MSL/SPC number using the app from this link: http://tools.flashingtools.com/SPCUtility.apk

Dial ##data#
Select Edit
Put your MSL # and click OK
Scroll to bottom and select More
Scroll to bottom and select LTE APN Settings
Got to APN2 LTE internet
Go to APN type
Add ,dun at the end
Now it should be default,mms,dun
Got to APN2 EHRPD internet
Go to APN type
Add ,dun at the end
Now it should be default,mms,dun
Go to Settings
Change Hotspot to ON
Done. It should work now.

I've tried that option. Although it might work if you have 4G, but unfortunately I'm currently in a 3G area. In this case, can I add on the ",dun" string to all other APN's?

Is your device rooted ? If so, just buy the Wifi Tether Router App best $2.50 you will spend this year. I also tried adding dun to my APN's. No luck here either, on my Note 3 running 4.4.2 NC5 rooted. So I purchased the Wifi Tether Router App, and it was worked flawlessly in 3G and 4G areas. It will give you 4G lte download speeds when in that area.

It works for 3g and 4g. ehrpd apn is the one to enable for tethering on 3g (evdo and ehrpd data)

Before trying this, I had installed JoshBeech's version

but I found out it only worked with deodexed ROM's. When I flashed JB's uninstall script (from the same post), the above quoted solution started to work. Thanks, very smooth solution.

That works for me also when the phone is in 3G.

sprint disabled hotspot capabilities somehow?

This could be a problem... for everyone on sprint. I was using Wifi Tether Router app with no issues for about 20 days, and used about 10gb in that time (on sprints my way 450 (I think) with unlimited data).

A few days ago it quit working... so I troubleshot it, trying different settings etc.... nothing. It would still make a wifi network, there would just be no Internet access. I tried the above mod, got the native hotspot to work, but also with no Internet access.

I got frustrated and figured "if something just got tweaked on my phone or app, then i can just revert to my twrp backup that I made just after rooting!"

So I did that.... same results, networks with no Internet access, but my data on my phone works fine! To me it seems like sprint has done something to cause this not to work anymore. Also klink (an app) used to work just fine for USB tether, and it wouldn't even work, gives me an ABD error or something.

Any ideas guys?

You can enable native hotspot with my app. No binaries are patched and works on every stock rom that has been released.
p.s. I use more than 10gb EVERY SINGLE DAY!
