Yes, as mentioned, the first fix takes a while (30+mins), but afterwards it was in the seconds for me.

FINALLY, RIL/Radio is working!
Sensors as well, even binderized for hwbinder. Vibrator working. Audio working...
Lineage 18.1 for the SM-T555: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=2188818919693788112
Thx for your effort.
I installed this on my "bed" tablet. And for now it is working.
I used the TWRP 3.1.0-1 from https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-355-357-550-555-sm-p350-355-550-555.3426560/
And Gapps for 18.1 from https://wiki.lineageos.org/gapps.html
- Install TWRP
- Factory Reset
- Installed 18.1 zip and Gapps
- Factory Reset
I will report back if I find something not working. It has the red flashing for an "eng" build like @retiredtab says.

WiFi problem for me: If I put the WiFi mode in the router to "WPA2 + WPA3" I can not connect. If I switch it to "WPA2 (CCMP)" it works.

So I don't have the SM-T555, but I just tested WPA2+WPA3 on my SM-T560NU with an openwrt router (running 21.02 rc2) set to WPA2+WPA3 Mixed mode PSK, SAE (CCMP).

I got it to work by using this commit AND I had to set the 802.11w Management Frame Protection to optional from required in openwrt.

The commit above has to be compiled into the code which I did for the SM-T560NU. The above commit tells the OS that SAE isn't supported and not to use WPA3.

I will apply the same commit to SM-T550, SM-P550 and SM-T350 and verify it works on those devices as well.

The same commit works for SM-P550 and SM-T350. Again, 802.11w Management Frame Protection has to be optional on openwrt. I don't know about dd-wrt or other routers. I only have one router at home that has WPA3 as an option.

Thanks for your work.
I tested the following ROMS from your folder on androidfilehost.com:

lineage-18.1-20210425-UNOFFICIAL-gt510lte-eng.zip
lineage-18.1-20210602-UNOFFICIAL-gt510lte-eng.zip
lineage-18.1-20210602-UNOFFICIAL-gt510lte-userdebug.zip

I installed them via adb sideload after factory resetting and formating of the data partitition via your twrp_3.1.0-1_sm-t555_13317.tar that I found in the lineageos 17.1 folder.

After installing them I'm stuck on the moving Bootlogo of LineageOS on all 3 of ém.
So after over 20 minutes of stucking at the bootscreen, I did a hardreset to go back to TWRP and try the other of your ROMS mentioned above...

I'm coming from the official Android 7.1.1.

What should I do? Do you have a solution?

I simply put the lame old android on it again. Since LineageOS sadly isn´t booting at all on my SM-T555. Since it hasn't got any security updates for years now, I´ll have to use it as a ebook reading device for offline usage.

I have been using this rom for a while now and it works flawlessly! Thanks for your hard work RandomAndroidTinkerer, and the other developers who are involved, and thanks for sharing this great rom with us!

This is the version that I used: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=14943124697586343424
Together with the TWRP from your folder: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=2188818919693785996

So for beginners, here's all I did:
- Boot tablet in download mode (Power + Vol down + Home)
- Install TWRP using heimdall on Ubuntu (on Windows, use Odin). After installing, immediately boot from download mode into recovery (Power + Vol up + Home), or TWRP will be overwritten by stock recovery
- Boot into TWRP
- Go to Wipe and perform a factory reset
- Transfer LineageOS rom and GApps (https://wiki.lineageos.org/gapps.html I used 32 bit) to the tablet over USB, then flash them in this order
- Do another factory reset

I also found a fix for the GPS issues. Using a GPS test app, I could see that it found satellites and got a fix very quickly (within 30 seconds), so the hardware seemed to work fine, but the other apps using GPS somehow didn't work. I tried to copy over the gps.conf from the stock rom, but this didn't help. I then found this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/gps-does-not-work-on-lineageos-18-1.4261353/
It seems to be a known bug and someone suggested to do a factory reset after installing LineageOS. It works! So after flashing LineageOS and GApps, boot into Twerp again, select Wipe, then accept the default settings that are suggested for a factory reset. After doing this, GPS works flawlessly, just as good as the stock rom.

A side note, after the factory reset I had some random reboots for the first ten minutes, and the Google first setup wizard appeared again in the notifications although I had already finished it. I let the tablet sit for a while and then tried to complete the setup wizard a second time, and after that, the crashes are gone.

Do you have a solution?
first i installed the build of april the lineage-18.1-20210425-UNOFFICIAL-gt510lte-eng.zip
i also got stuck in the boot animation

i downloaded the newest build lineage-18.1-20210602-UNOFFICIAL-gt510lte-eng.zip and the gapps open_gapps-arm-11.0-nano-20210724.zip

i booted into recovery and wiped all! system cache dalvik internal storage everything!
go in twrp menu to advanced - adb sideload

download the ADB from https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...vers-15-seconds-adb-installer-v1-4-3.2588979/

and sideload both .zips

and see there it worked like the boot time on a oneplus :D

    Dear all,

    I am trying to build a LineageOS 17.1 ROM for the Galaxy Tab A 9.7 (gt510lte) SM-T555.

Using the repos of @retiredtab and aala27's repos I managed to build a config that resulted in a buildable LineageOS that I could install and that shows the Lineage boot animation but crashes/reboots after a while.
Fyi, my forks for the GT510LTE (SM-T555) I currently maintain here: https://github.com/blizzard4591?tab=repositories

    Questions to @retiredtab:
    - What is your current local_manifest/roomservice? I could not locate this in your Github and used one posted by aala27 in a different thread, but it might be "off".
    - Did you extract the required proprietary files by hand from stock ROMs or is there an automated way? I have "SM-T555_1_20190103084053_we4a668guy_fac" with T555XXU1CQHA/T555XXU1CRG1 that I know works on my T555.
    - The repo "vendor-samsung-gt5note10wifi" in your Github only contains a branch for Lineage 18.1, is that intentional?

Sadly, I am a total noob in the area of building Lineage, so I might miss some obvious things!

I am willing to put in some time and effort to make this work, but I just do not know enough to do it efficiently.
If you can spare the time for a few hints, I believe I can make some progress!

    Cheers

    Update 1:
My image is working, i.e. it boots and gives a stable system.
Problem: Bluetooth does not work and crashes a lot, I have no clue what the problem is.
Problem: Audio is not working, I see a lot of "audio_route: unable to find path 'low-latency-playback speaker'
The system settings dialog is missing the "Android Patchlevel" information - is this expected? I am building using "repo sync, breakfast gt510lte, brunch gt510lte" - is this correct? I am just an idiot.

    Update 2:
Bluetooth and Audio are working, SELinux is not, so permissive it is for now.
    Builds available on request.

Hi, I applied for an uploader account at AndroidFileHost, once this is granted I will upload a current build.

Thank you for your build. I also succeeded installing your build lineage-17.1-20210419-UNOFFICIAL-gt510lte-eng. I like the slightly better performance thanks to 1.6 Ghz overclocked cpu. What didn't worked was the gps-feature (tested with GPStest) - after minutes there could be located only one satellite. But besides that, this build is ok.

Developper options have been already activated but the call of the developer menu is not possible.
An eng build for whatever reason doesn't bring up the developer menu in 17.1, but works in 18.1.
