I updated my rooted HD but, without thinking I updated before defrosting the bloatware and protecting and backing up root. Now my phone randomly reboots itself like 20 time per day. Its not important to me to have root but, it is important to me to have a clean install of 4.1.2. I already tried factory reset but, that didn't work. I have the Verizon consumer edition. Please tell me I'm not screwed.

Thank you. That helped. Now i have a clean 4.1.2 but, it is still rebooting itself several times a day. No root, just completely stock. What is going on? I've never had this problem and I've had the phone since September. Its never been dropped or abused. It doesn't even have any scratches on it. I'm becoming irritated.

Maybe try to format/wipe your sd card, make a backup first if necessary. Or you can try to wipe cache in factory recovery, there might be something left over from rooting that is effecting the phone which did not get deleted with sbf. But sbf should of cleared that. And last resort try factory reset in recovery also... To get in fact. rec. hold Vol+ and Vol_ then tap power and let go of vol buttons. Scroll using vol- to recovery, select it with vol+. Once android with ! is on screen, hold Vol- and tap vol+... Then scroll with vol buttons and select with power.

FYI: There is a way to update to 4.1.2, keep root with the ability to downgrade. You just have to follow this guide: http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/13644-keep-root-and-ability-to-downgrade/
