I'm not skeered, but I must be stupid because I am not getting it. I can see my driver has installed in devicemanager. When you say "extract the file you just downloaded" are you talking about the zip file in the OP? OK, did that.

When you say "3) Run "CheckBeforeAction.bat" on Admin mode (Right click, run as administrator)" are you talking right click on the extracted file? I do that and "run as admin" does not pop up . It is not clear to me where I am supposed to be...(confused, confused...)

I incorrectly assumed that I did not need to tell people to open that folder that you extracted from the original post, but ..... you should do that lol

my tablet is still on 4.4.4. Anyway to get this to 5.1 atleast? Device hasn't been activated on AT&T is that why it says no update even though AT&T has released this?

I got mine to 5.1.1 by taking out the inactive SIM, and inserting my active AT&T SIM (from my cell phone), then searching for an update.

For some reason, searching for OTA update while on wifi with an inactive SIM shows no download available. I normally use the tablet with an inactive SIM on wifi only.

FYI, after updating, my tablet seems A LOT slower. Chrome or switching apps sometimes hangs for 15 seconds or so. I haven't had new apps or anything installed, so that isn't the cause. Could be just my tablet, for some reason, but it pisses me off. Wish I never updated.

I have a AT&T Asus Memopad 7 LTE, model number unknown... It's on 5.1.1, got it from a pawn shop, someone left a active sim in it lol.

So, is there any known way to roll Lollipop back down to 4.4.4? If someone has an older 4.4.4 AT&T rom, would flashing that work?

I've been looking around for a raw file for this... But no one seems to have it. I wouldn't mind trying the lollipop version. I rooted my 4.4.4 but has way too many random crashes, would like to try lollipop

[Almost] Stupid proof directions for Windows 7 users:
1) Turn on device and wait for it to be on the "desktop" / main area.
1a) Plug in device into computer. WAIT UNTIL IT IS DONE INSTALLING THE DRIVERS BEFORE CONTINUING.
2) After you get that green check mark for the driver installation, extract the file you just downloaded (this is referring to the original poster's zip file link).
3) Run "CheckBeforeAction.bat" on Admin mode (Right click, run as administrator; this file can be found in the FOLDER of the zip file you downloaded earlier.)
3a) Follow prompts on the window that opens.
3b) If you follow the prompts, it should have restarted your device and you should be in a black screen with some minor text (aka Fastboot).
*** WARNING: IF YOU ARE STILL ON THE DESKTOP, YOU WERE IMPATIENT LIKE ME, AND DID NOT WAIT FOR THE DRIVERS TO INSTALL. ***

4) Once in Fastboot / black screen with text only, run "Root.bat"
5) It should complete successfully.
6) Restart device and you're all set.
When I get to step 4 and run Root.bat as administrator, I get errors like "sleep" not recognized and lots of Assets errors. I could search on how to get you a file to see the errors. But the memo goes into the fastboot fine and waits for cmd. but won't run the root.bat correctly. Can you help please?

restart computer and restart tablet and try again?
not sure how you're hitting that error considering it's plug and play, from my understanding of the initial post...... =(

I am wondering if the issue is your phablet was on "sleep" mode and/or screen turned off? kind of weird, but glad it works.

Hi and hello all. Thank you for this great forum and helpers from all over the world. I just bought a refurbished
an "unlock" Asus MeMo Pad 7 LTE, ME375CL, with AT&T logo on the back and ofcourse, bloatwares when I turned on. My seller told me that all I have to do is put in a sim since it's unlocked and I can make a call out/in, using it like a regular phone. Well, I cannot make a call or receive a call. I tried calling in from a different phone, it rings for about 2 seconds then it just cut off. I also downloaded a dealer "truecaller" app but nothing works. there is no phone dailer. Please help, I really need this phone/phablet/tablet for my 10 year old.

The strange thing is that I was able to setup a LINE app successfully. The app sent out a sms code to my phone number, my sim (the one I put in the tablet), and it automatically work. So it's basically ATT is blocking the phone capability?

android version: 5.1.1
baseband version: 1505_4.0.16.01_0709
build number: ATT_12.30.2.13

This is a tablet, not a phone. It does not contain the radios and software of a phone. You would have a better chance at using a 3rd party WiFi calling app.
Hello thanks for your reply. It can receive SMS, so I'm assuming there must be some radio. What do you suggest for a 3rd party app?

SOLVED!!!
Here is a link to the modified script by me. Thanks to shakalaca for the original script for asus phones. This has only been proven to work on devices running 4.4.4 and below. Please hit the thanks button if this helped you.

omg I thought my tablet would never be rooted THANK YOU!

EDIT: Im on 4.4.4. Im going to assume its not safe to update? (It will break the root?)
EDIT 2: If there is anyone else who rooted this and interested, I have too many essential root-only tweaks to post. Completely changes this thing. Pm me or post (preferably) and I'll list them.
I'm on 4.4.4 and firmware is ATT_11, but I'm unable to find the rooting tool! Can you plz help! Bought the tab only today! Didn't update it too!
